Thank you for taking the time to view our annual bred ewe sale- with the second annual BREDS, BRISKET & BREWS onfarm event. We are a family-owned operation out of Webster City, IA with humble beginnings. Like many other operations across the US, our flock has roots that started with a 4-H project that grew larger than any of us could ever envision.

Our brand states “Hild Bros”, but it’s very much a whole family affair where everyone plays a role in the day-to-day operation. We strive to make wethers that can compete at any and all levels of competition, ewes that can compete in Kari Nichols Photography the ring at the highest levels and then return to the flock to be productive and profitable for our clients. We also market fresh and frozen semen on our entire buck battery. This set of breds is a group we are extremely proud of to say the least. From top to bottom, these gals have flat out been profitable and stem from bloodlines that have literally built the HB brand. No doubt one of the most exciting buck lambs we’ve produced to date. Being ultra lined up, we think Ace will bring all the shape and tone that Ride Time has been noted for, along with all the positive Gable attributes of making them impeccable and freaky through their chest and shoulder. This dude is HUGE upper hipped, and his stifle and twist continue to bulk up daily. Born in mid December of 2022, he was already fertile for use in May of 2023 for fall borns. Granted, the offspring out of him are awfully young as I write this, but all I can say is we’re super pumped we used this guy as heavy as we did this year.

Coming off a heck of a buck lamb year, we consider this dude “The Real Deal”. Producing an elite wether that was grand at MLE, Res Ewe at Iowa 4-H, Champion Market Ewe IA FFA, Bronze Naddy at Tulsa, 4th Overall Cross Tulsa, Grand at GA National, $16k Diva female, and a pile of sporty ones that are slated to show this fall and spring. He’s backed by one of the best females in the business. “Layne” (raised by Allen/Newcomb) is a true matriarch female. Being blue, Ride Time has the capability of producing blue ones, as well as the ultra hampy kind that has his face is still covered with wool. Ride Time’s ability to make sheep with true tone and shape, and still that tricked out front 1/3 is unmatched by any sire we’ve ever used. He saw heavy use at our house and throughout the industry this year, I think next year will be his biggest yet.

Purchased by Mountain View Farm Club Lambs in WV for $33k at the Premier 10, we want to again express our thanks to Zackery Schumaker and his family for allowing this buck to continue to be in our stud lineup. With his first crop on the ground Cowboy did an impeccable job of making ultra hampy sheep that are pulled apart at the ground, robust caged and MASSIVE. Many that used Cowboy in 2022 came back for more in 2023 and we did the same at HB. We saved a stinger set of females sired by this guy, one at which was the 3rd Overall Commercial Ewe at the Iowa State Fair shown by Brayden Burtnett. We continue to expect big things out of this proven young stud.

FREESTYLE X DROP THE MIC RRNNFF

Hot off siring the Res Grand at Kansas City, I think it’s hard to argue that Gable isn’t one of the best producing FF sires within the past few years. Siring sheep that have risen to the top of some of the most competitive shows in the nation with a list too long to mention for not only our flock but many other reputable breeders that utilized him across the country.

He has the ability to make them assembled correctly through their font 1/3, while still maintaining an ideal hip and hind leg set, all while producing sheep with heaps of shape and mass. His males have certainly been fun to watch feed, but his females may be where the special sauce is. Numerous Gable daughters entered our donor pen this year flushing well even as virgins. Gable is a very special buck that means a lot to our family, and will no doubt continue to leave a legacy in our flock.

Unicorn X “CiCi” RRNNFD

The pedigree on this one sure reads fun, and he looks the part in person too. ULTRA hampy, fat caged guy here that has an elite skeletal assembly. He’s a flush mate to the Res Hamp at MO State Fair, as well as a litter of keeper ewe lambs. We think he’ll pass on his much desired hamp feature, while making sheep that are huge caged and massive. We used this guy a fair bit. Out of another true matriarch ewe “CiCi” purchased from Hoeing/Hill, she’s simply never missed.

Limited number of ewes bred to this guy on the sale but don’t count him out, this guy does some ultra “out there” things for an FF. Massive caged, and copious amounts of lower cheek, we just couldn’t stand to band this guy with the outlier pieces he has. His dam “OK Smoke Show” was a successful show ewe for Maklain Stinnett, and he’s got a full brother in MS being campaigned by Hayes Henderson that should make some noise down the road.

LAWLESS X ‘JUDY’ RRFF

Once he hit the ground in the lambing barn I knew this one probably wouldn’t see a bander. Sired by Lawless, and dammed by Riley Walker’s champion Speck from the Iowa State Fair in 2021.

This ¾ blood, completely white dude is sure fun to look at. We used him heavy on our purebred whites, as well as specks and think he’ll have the ability to make all white ones that should class, with the rib cage, handle and shape that will rival blacks. He’s not pure, but even Nancy thinks this guy is alright!

WHITE CLAW X RUDY

A registered Dorset, this dude is as complete as any I’ve seen for a white one. Although he saw limited use here due to the low number of pures we have, he’s the best purebred sire we’ve used. His sire Whiteclaw was moderate, fuzzy creature, and his Rudy Dam from Silver Smith is one wild looking creature. Lawless compliments his sire and dam to bring a complete package that can flat out make some good pures.

An FF buck that has as positive of a buzz as any right now, we decided to bring him in as our FF out-cross sire. The Middlesworth & Allen/Newcomb firms certainly have some of the best track records for pedigrees that win, as he recently sired the Res Ewe at the OK State Fair.

We think we have him bred to an awfully good set of ewes, and we expect him to cross up and make some truly elite specimens.

The sale is in no particular order; variety of ages, sire groups, and service sires are spread throughout the entire sale with open ewes rounding out the lineup.

All ewes were scanned on 9-10-23 & 10-10-23 in an effort to provide the most accurate information as possible on due dates and fetal counts and pregnancy status. All have been double vaccinated for Chlamydia and Campylobacter, and dewormed prior to breeding. We strive to provide as accurate of data as we can whether it be on bag status, fetal counts, remark dates, etc, but some do slip between the cracks despite all our efforts. A past show ewe of the Burtnett family, sisters made their way to Texas to generate some winners for Lane Hale, and her brother was sold to TKM where Marshal Miller won a boat load in Ohio. She is big racked, huge centered and deep in her stifle shape. She has the capability of making her way into the donor pen for those searching for that caliber of a ewe.

This is not a ewe that normally leaves the farm. CiCi has a long, long history of making great ones here, and this female is no doubt following her mothers footsteps. She’s had one crop, and her ewe last year was second in class in 4H ewe show in Iowa, and sold the other for $2500 online. Only the third ewe to leave the farm dammed by CiCi (who has dammed 55 babies for reference), make us regret seeing these Father Figure’s hit the ground on our farm.

I could use some more provocative words to describe how eloquent this girl reads to be, but I’ll just stick to stone cold fox. She has always been one to knab your attention, even as a show ewe for our neighbors. High headed, soggy belly and big legs. Dammed a furry creature last year that we sold to Ty Allen, I’d expect something very fuzzy this year coupled with some extra power confirmed to Cowboy.

In 2020 her Moon Man ewe sold to Clum in Ohio, in 2021 she produced the Freestyle ewe that Trey Goretska successfully campaigned all summer, “Bhad Baby”. She was 3rd overall at the Iowa State 4H ewe show and won numerous jackpots all summer long. That outlier female pushed us to move 19037 into the donor program the next year where she produced 5 wethers by Chief that averaged $2300, going to Sager, Zaunbrecher, Sypersma, and one ewe lamb that we retained. In 23, we flushed her to Unicorn, where she made a male that sold to Sager. In March she laid down and had a set of natural borns to Lennie, we retained one of the females, and she is an absolute freak, and the wether went to Lane Hale. To be honest, her 2022 flush numbers went down, but she did not lamb between the summer of 21 and 22 naturally. With her lambing this go around, I would like to think her repro track is kickstarted again and she’d go back to flushing well. 19037 bag is still sound and soft, but she did not milk the best in 2023 while raising twins.

Here's a BTI yearling that hasn’t lambed yet right out of our flush program. Her flushmate brother went on to win multiple jackpots for Callen Minard, another flushmate sister sold to Boardman, and we’ve retained 2 other flushmate sisters. On top of that Amthauer is flushing a flushmate sister to this gal who gave 20 embryos earlier this year as a virgin yearling. 6220 her mother, is one of the most prolific donors in our program, averaging over 20 embryos per flush herself as a 2016 model. This one has true donor potential both in the blood and by phenotype. Selling confirmed to Ride Time, I think the sky is the limit here.

In 2020 She had a pair of ewe lambs to 78 where we have retained both, 2021 se was moved into the donor program where she made 4 embryos that resulted in 4 lambs, we retained 2 more females out of that flush, both of which we turned into a donors, and another sister sold one for $5750. In 2022 she had a Gable Ewe we sold for $2500. In 2023 she had a set of triplets to Night Life, 2 females and one male, all of which sold to Mr. Chad Walker. The females that have retained out of this ewe are to be quite honest hammers. One of them produced our high selling ewe lamb on our Elite ET Ewe Lamb sale for over 10K, and wethers selling into some of the best homes in America. Although D7067 sire is White Trash, nothing about her has been trashy during her stay at the ranch. She’s the mother to one of our best dorsets, D20226, the champion speck at Iowa 4H ewe show for Riley Walker, a real nice speck we sold to Einhaus family, wether to Chad Charmasson and a Cowboy Way speck we sold to JD Pruitt. She has been the most influential purebred dorset for us, and she’s just as impressive in person. If you are into truly elite pure bred white ones, I challenge you to find a better pure that will sell this fall. Side note, she marked on both 8-1 & 8-17, but scanned on days right in between the 2. We know she’s stuck, but worth noting.

If this girl's picture doesn’t make you feel funny in all the right places then you have to check your pulse. She has always had a natural presence to her as a brood ewe that stockmen admire.

Her appearance correlates to her quality offspring; we sold her 2021 freestyle wether to JD Pruitt and the other brother to Harrells. She raised quads in 2022 where one of the wethers won multiple county fair shows for the Head family in Iowa.

Never hurts that Black Nancy is the mother to this ewe, one of my favorite Fowl Play ewes.

Coming out of the donor pen, she’s been a mad producer. In 2020 she hit the gate running sending a Felony wether to Lane Hale, in 2021 she made a pair of 78’s, the wether to sold to Charmasson that went on to be a very successful show sheep for Carter Watson, the ewe being Res Div III at the Iowa State Fair for Riley Walker, who has now become one of our top donors “Shelia” whom we’ve flushed 4 times already. In 2022 we flushed her to Gable that resulted 14 embryos and all females. We sold one privately for $7500 and one on our Elite ET Ewe Lamb Sale for $6000. This year she made a Night Life wether that sold to Chad Walker. To be honest, we $6k Gable Daughter Shelia daughter hadn’t bled this ewe until the sale, I wouldn't have dreamt she was DD. Nonetheless, she’s confirmed with twins to Ace of Spades, I lose sleep wondering if this is the right year to cut her loose.

I love this ground pounder here. Her mother was a past donor for us and her maternal brothers were sold to Brian Williams in MO, Lane Hale, Sandy Family, Billy Hill & Mark Walker, who was 5th in class at Fort Worth & Grand at Spooktacular Jackpot TX. We were a big fan of her Mr. Clean lamb in ‘21 and decided to haul him down to the Young Guns sale where he sold for $2k. We have also retained 3 females from her from the past 3 years sired by three different bucks. Consistency runs deep in her ability to make solid animals bred to a multitude of bucks. I’d expect these father figure sired babies to be built like a dump truck.

In 2018 she made keeper ewe out of Shameless, 2019 Dirty Harry ewe to Rocky Morris, 2020 Brisby wether to Koch in Indiana, in 21 Freestyle wether to NM for $1500 that won his county, and has produced a keeper ewe lamb to Chief. Twins to Cowboy here should be awfully fun. Look for her elite front ⅓ in the offspring, and for Cowboy to bring all the shape and hamp feature.
