Nick Stevens is the managing editor of HighSchoolOT.com. A native of Raleigh, he has covered high school sports for Capitol Broadcasting Company and WRAL since September 2006. Stevens oversees the dayto-day coverage at HighSchoolOT.com, which includes statewide coverage in North Carolina from Murphy to Manteo. Stevens is also the host of “HighSchoolOT Live,” a streaming high school football show that airs every Friday night during the high school football season. “HighSchoolOT Live” starts every August and is modeled after “NFL Redone,” taking high school football fans from game to game with live, in-game updates, instant replays and analysis.

“HighSchoolOT live” won a RTDNA Regional Edward R. Murrow award for Excellence in Innovation in 2018.

Stevens was the 2017-2018 N.C. High School Athletic Association Media Representative of the Year and the 2023 NCSCA Media Representative of the Year.

THORPE HighSchoolOT

T.J. Thorpe joined HighSchoolOT in 2022 as a football analyst, host of "The T.J. Thorpe Show," and co-host of "HighSchoolOT Live." A native of Durham, Thorpe played football and basketball at Jordan High School. He still holds the school record for career receiving yards with 2,423 and the N.C. High School Athletic Association single-season record for most kick returns for touchdowns with five. Thorpe was one of the top prospects in the country when in high school. ESPNU rated him as the No. 88 overall player and the No. 11 athlete in the Class of 2011.

Rivals.com considered Thorpe the No. 15 wide receiver nationally and the No. 6 player in North Carolina. Thorpe also earned a spot on the Shrine Bowl roster as a senior. After graduating from Jordan, Thorpe played college football at UNC for Butch Davis and Larry Fedora. In 2011, Thorpe earned All-ACC Honorable Mention recognition and was a finalist for Johnny Rodgers Award, which recognizes the top returner in college football. After graduating from UNC with a degree in exercise science, Thorpe played one season at UVA as a graduate student. Thorpe entered the NFL in 2016 where he spent time with the then-Washington Redskins and the Philadelphia Eagles. He also played in the Canadian Football League.​

VINCENT HEAD BASEBALL COACH - J.H. ROSE HIGH SCHOOL

Ronald Vincent – or “RV” for short – is the longtime baseball coach at J.H. Rose High School in Greenville.

Vincent has lived in Pitt County his entire life and is a graduate of J.H. Rose. This spring, he completed his 54th season as a baseball coach in Pitt County, where it all began in 1969 when he coached a little league team in Farmville. He took over as the baseball coach at J.H. Rose in 1973, and he’s been there since.

Vincent, who was already the winningest baseball coach in N.C. High School Athletic Association history, eclipsed a milestone of 1,000 career victories in baseball this season. He is the first coach in NCHSAA history to win 1,000 games in a single sport. Some have won 1,000 games when combining wins in multiple sports, but Vincent is the first to do it in one sport.

In his time at J.H. Rose, Vincent’s teams have won seven baseball state championships (1975, 1997, 1999, 2003, 2004, 2008, 2021).

Vincent has also coached football, basketball, and wrestling. As an assistant football coach at J.H. Rose, he was part of five state championships, including four consecutive titles from 2003 through 2006.

In 2013, Vincent was inducted into the NCHSAA Hall of Fame. He was also named the NCHSAA Male Coach of the Year in 2022.

The high school athletes are not the only ones who have benefited from Vincent’s work though. He has also been involved in youth baseball camps and the Babe Ruth league in Greenville for decades and has served as a volunteer with the Boy Scouts.
