We couldn’t have asked this young cow to do a better job if we tried! MT Farm’s Ruth is a sweet little dun heifer that’s got a great build and even better demeanor. Stout, straight, and with a strong hip, this one could be a prospect for the show ring. Sired by WL Kipper and out of Last Chance Kelby, a young female who boasts the genetics of Flatland, Pimushe, and Schon Boden Farms. Her sire, WL Kipper, is a son to the famous silver bull, WL Genesis. What we really love about Ruth is her docility. She loves to be brushed, is easy to handle, and took to halter training very quickly. Here’s a nice female all wrapped up in that pretty dun package.

She is nt821 negative and has produced some great offspring including a bull we retained to be used in our herd. Netty is sired by Schon Boden’s Fletcher and out of Last Chance Gwen, a consistent producer for us over at MT Farms. There’s a lot to appreciate about Netty, but truly our favorite part about her is her demeanor. She’s friendly, quiet, loves to be brushed, and even though we didn’t halter-train her until she was a yearling, she took to it like she had been doing it her whole life. We bought CBS Hagrid & his dam off the 2020 North Central Highland Cattle Production sale as a cow/calf pair from Cobble Stone Farms. They arrived that summer and at weaning (End of Oct.) Hagrid was 580lbs. He has had a halter on a few times in his life as a young bull but is not selling as halter broke. He handles easily between pastures or loading on & off the trailer. His calm temperament & mellow demeanor make him very easy to be around. He Likes to be combed & petted, and will also take horse treats out of your hand, I have hands on him daily. He respects hot wire fences and has been the only mature bull out in pasture when he is working on breeding cows. Hagrid has been studded out the past 3 years to farms with non-registered highlands and has always been very productive and gotten the job done.
Hagrid’s Sire, CBS Clark Kent, was the 2028 NCHCA Reserve Champion Bull. His Sire, Gray Owl’s Bearach, also had a great show career. Hagrid’s Dam, DH Victor’s Magic #53827 she is still one of my top cows who has had many successful calves in and out of the showring.
