New Team takes the Struan Inn forward for 2019 We were pleased to welcome a new face to our team in September.

The Struan Inn is becoming increasingly popular for large groups and parties. In 2018 we were delighted to welcome 85 members of the Clan Robertson for their farewell lunch at the end of their Clan Gathering. It was a very successful event and they are planning to return again this year. In addition, we hosted numerous birthday, anniversary and retirement functions. The newly installed commercial kitchen has proved to be a great asset in coping with these larger numbers and we look forward to hosting more of these events in 2019.

Evelyn Orr has joined us from the Isle of Bute and takes over the role of Front of House Supervisor, overseeing both the Restaurant and accommodation-side of the business with an emphasis on customer service. Evelyn has extensive experience in the hospitality industry and we are looking forward to her input as we start the new season. There have also been changes in the kitchen, with our Second Chef Anthony Bristol taking over the reigns as Head Chef during 2018. Anthony has been introducing some new and exciting dishes which are proving popular with locals and tourists alike.

We started to offer takeaway fish and chips during 2018 and due to popular demand have expanded our takeaway menu for the new season to include other snacks and meals such as soups, burgers, chicken fillets etc.. With the number of self-catering properties in Old Struan and Glen Errochty on the rise, plus the opening of the Calvine Holiday Park, we are well placed to serve the growing demand for takeaway food in the immediate area.

3

Finally we are delighted that The Struan Inn has been re-graded by the AA as a Four-star Inn. Formerly it was only our accommodation that was graded, so well done to the Kitchen and Restaurant team for their hard work.
