Year 10 Level 1 Sports Leaders Mrs Allen Issue 21: 14 February 2020

Highfields year 10 sports leaders had their internal moderation on Tuesday 11 February. The leaders led activities in badminton and netball for All Saints, class 5. Leaders Reece, Sam, Courtney, Libby, Emily, Holly, Caitlin, Naomi, Jessica and Mckayla were fantastic and the staff and students from All Saints loved the hour of activities and all were fully engaged.

England Netball Coach at Highfields Mrs Allen

Val Kindred, England netball coach, visited Highfields to train our sports leaders on the new Bee Netball programme on Thursday 13 February. Leaders will all be prepared now for the umpiring at the KS2 Bee Netball tournament in March.

Voice of Sport Mrs Allen

The February Voice of Sport meeting took place today.

Fixture results

Highfields netball success Miss Tabbenor

Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School played against Highfields earlier in the week. Our year 7 netball team won 14-0 with Brooke awarded player of the match and the year 8 team also shared in the victory winning 24-5, with Molly awarded player of the match – well done Highfields!

Sports Fixtures:

Tuesday 25 February Under 18 boys’ football team playing in the County Cub second round at home against Tupton Hall. 3.40pm kick off at Lumsdale.

Wednesday 26 February Year 7 and 8 football teams are travaling to Tupton Hall in the same fixture with kick-off at 4.10pm. Arrival back to Starkholmes by 5.45pm.
