Cover Supervisor

Location Highfields School, Matlock Salary details Scale 4: £20,903 - £22,183 (Actual Salary: £15,652 - £16,611) Appointment type Permanent Hours 32 hours and 30 minutes per week, 39 weeks per year Closing Date 9 January 2022

We are seeking to appoint a suitably experienced Cover Supervisor who will oversee classes during short term absences of teaching staff.

You will be expected to manage student behaviour and keep students focused and on task. You should be flexible, have a desire to work with young people and have a calm and authoritative manner.

Part time hours will also be considered.

We look to appoint staff who are willing to contribute fully to the life of the school and who are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Highfields is a vibrant and popular school with approximately 1200 students, including 200 in our sixth form. Our students are friendly and highly motivated.

We were judged as a good school by Ofsted in May 2017 and are committed to continuous improvement in all aspects of our work. Highfields is situated in Matlock, the county town of Derbyshire, on the south eastern edge of the beautiful Peak District National Park. It is within easy reach of Sheffield, Derby and Nottingham.

Learning Mentors (two posts)

Location Highfields School Salary Scale 3: £19,698 - £20,493 (Pro-Rata) (Actual Salary: £11,800 - £12,276) Hours per Week 26 hours (Term-Time Only) Contract Fixed Term Closing Date 15/12/21

Fixed Term until 31st August 2022

We are looking to appoint two enthusiastic, innovative and understanding learning mentors to support students within our existing dedicated team.

You will be expected to help students stay on task, whilst being able to overcome social and emotional barriers to learning. To raise their aspirations, self-esteem and maximise learning potential.

We are a vibrant, popular school and have a strong partnership with the community and local schools. Highfields is situated in Matlock, the county town of Derbyshire, on the south-eastern edge of the Peak District. It is within easy reach of Sheffield, Derby and Nottingham.

The successful candidate will have to meet the requirements of the person specification in order to be offered the post, will be required to undergo a full enhanced DBS check and must be eligible to work in the UK.
