Project description: Wellington Construction has had a partnership with H+H for almost 20 years. When the company won its biggest project to date, H+H Celcon Plus Blocks were specified, because the team had confidence in the reliability of H+H as a supplier.
on why Wellington Construction favours H+H and aircrete: “We use H+H Celcon Blocks because they tick all the boxes. Whether it’s regarding specification, delivery or the simplicity of ordering through local merchants, H+H’s Celcon Blocks and external support hit the mark every time”.
Reason for choosing H+H aircrete: H+H Celcon Plus Blocks have been used to increase build speed as they are lighter and easier to handle on site than standard concrete blocks, while offering all the benefits of masonry construction.
Jason continued: “It’s a given we use Celcon Blocks on our internal and party walls, simply because they conform to robust details. From a buyer’s perspective, if we have one product that will do multiple jobs, we can use it throughout the units, making our lives a bit easier.”
The blocks have been used on all cavity and party walls, using the robust details as the guidance for each application and the site has been constructed using traditional mortar joints. Jason Laughland, Purchasing Manager for Wellington Construction, elaborated
“Furthermore, we have to be considerate to the planners and surrounding areas, which in rural Norfolk means constructing houses using masonry. It’s basically keeping in line with the tradition for the area.”
