Dear Friends, January 2023
As we reflect on the incredible ministry of the Hospitality House of Tulsa in 2022, I’m so encouraged for our future. While the past 2 years have been highly focused on keeping our Hospitality House program open during the pandemic and serving an average of 550 families per year, we have emerged from this medical storm stronger. We are now poised to take bold steps to serve more families traveling for medical care and to help solve Tulsa’s medical lodging crisis

Our first step to providing more personal, affordable options has come through our new Lodgingly program By partnering with local hotels near hospitals, we can now offer deeply discounted hotel rates, accompanied by our supportive services including prayer support, access to local transportation and restaurant discounts Our Lodgingly program can significantly decrease out-of-pocket expenses for families

At the same time, we recognize that most families referred to stay with us at Hospitality House of Tulsa cannot afford to pay for lodging, even at a discounted rate. While medical crises can fall on any family regardless of their income, for families that fall within the poverty guidelines, traveling for medical care is a tremendous burden and even an obstacle to receiving healthcare. This is why we must continue to develop solutions for our ever-growing waiting list of families.
In 2022, our Board of Directors was able to identify vacant land located within the healthcare corridor, ideally situated within a 5 minute drive of 3 major hospitals. In the spring of 2023, we anticipate signing a letter of intent to purchase this property for a future Hospitality House with expanded capacity. We can now see the physical location which will provide the next step to serving significantly more families!
Our Board of Directors will continue to connect with you, our community, to provide you with many opportunities to express sincere hospitality through tours, sponsorships, volunteer opportunities and serving these families who depend on all of us to share God’s love and provision through compassionate hospitality
Sincerely,
Mike McBride
