DESCRIPTION Bank of America is looking for the next generation of community leaders. If you are a junior or senior in high school and are working to make a difference in your school or community, we want to support you.

As a Student Leader, you will participate in an eight-week paid internship at a local nonprofit organization where you will learn first-hand about the needs of your community and the critical role nonprofits play. In addition, you will learn valuable civic, social and business leadership skills.

Each Student Leader will attend the Student Leaders Summit held in Washington, D.C. where you will learn how government, business and the nonprofit sector work together to address critical community needs.

The NYC Fashion Summer Camp allows students interested in fashion the opportunity to get a jump start on their career aspirations by determining if this is the direction they want to pursue. During the tour they might meet a fashion designer in his/her studio, get an in-depth tour of one of the world’s most recognized premium lifestyle brands, have a private tour of a premier specialty/department store before it opens to the public or visit a mega fabric store that is actively involved in the latest reality television programs like Project Runway.

4 weeks. Students select two courses, a morning class and an afternoon class to be attended Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. On Wednesdays, students participate in our Beyond the Gates Series.

Students choose one class for the duration of the 1-week program to be attended 9:30 am - 12:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Afternoons are an opportunity to complete assignments and engage in on and off campus activities, including Broadway shows, baseball games, exercise classes, and so much more! Offering optional afternoon activities to include museum trips, walking tours, and visits to science centers.

The academic foundation of the institute will focus on gender issues, social change, and leadership in the form of a morning class.

Learn about dance from four different perspectives: as a scholar, as a dancer, as a choreographer, and as an audience member.

DESCRIPTION We offer a selection of courses in three different two-week sessions. Subjects include law, computer science, writing, and philosophy. Practice the art of healthy debate, delving into thought-provoking conversations and learning to embrace controversy diplomatically.

Neuroscience, film, philosophy, creative writing, and computer science—these are just a few of the 200-plus courses you can choose from. You’ll study with Harvard faculty and visiting scholars, and earn college credit you may transfer to your chosen university.

Taught by seasoned broadcaster Tara Petrolino, this course explores the fundamentals of sports broadcasting, including learned techniques in presenting, announcing, interviewing, research and writing, and overall professional presence.

Our sports media/journalism pre-collegiate programs are designed to prepare young broadcasters with the basic skill sets they will need to succeed in the television and radio industry.

Hofstra University Summer Camps is proud to announce the formation of the Learning Institute. The goal of the Learning Institute is to teach and inspire young people to be creative and reach their academic potential. These programs are tailored to meet the varied interests of all students. DESCRIPTION Sports Academy Camps are for the athlete who wishes to be immersed in their chosen sport for the full camp day.

Campers are trained by our division one college coaching staff in Hofstra’s state-of-the-art David S. Mack Sports Complex, the University Field, Hofstra Recreation Center, and the James M. Shuart Stadium/Howdy Meyers Pavilion. In addition to the expert instruction, campers participate in daily games and enjoy our first class lunch program. These programs are open for campers from grades 3 -12.

The College in the High School program at Hudson Valley Community College now offers online courses for students going into their junior or senior year and attending any New York State high . Enrollment in these courses is limited to high school students.

Our summer academies provide an opportunity for precollege students to immerse themselves in their chosen discipline for several days or weeks with some of the finest music educators in the country. Our summer adult workshops feature both performance-oriented and teaching-oriented intensive study for college students and adults with world-renowned faculty and guest artists.

Workshops range from several days to two weeks in length.

One week, non-credit courses for high school students to explore career options in the field of Computer-Aided Drafting & Design.

Students love their classes, stay up late, and enjoy trips, picnics, movies, concerts, talent shows, and other events both planned and spontaneous. Most importantly, our summer college alumni report they were better prepared for a successful transition to college. And many students appreciate the opportunity to earn college credit in their academic courses. Credits earned during the three-week summer college program are accepted at Ithaca College and normally transferable to other colleges. Students who attend the one-week session earn a certificate of completion.

This new pre-college intensive course combines 16mm filmmaking craft with high-definition (HD) digital techniques and tools, immersing students in the history and practice of making movies. Taught by School of Media Studies faculty, students gain a critical understanding of how re-imagining the city through multimedia storytelling engages, provokes, delights, and informs audiences. Their artistic and socially engaged short film projects are screened publicly at the end of the course.

DESCRIPTION The US Air Force Academy and Society of American Military Engineers offers an Engineering/STEM camp designed for high school students who excel in math, science and technology courses and are interested in pursuing engineering, architecture, or a related field in college or a military service academy. DESCRIPTION High school students from 43 U.S. states and 27 foreign countries have participated in our unique summer study in Paris, France pre-college programs, including our 5-week college credit and 5-week enrichment programs, as well as our 3-week non-credit enrichment program.

Founded in 1996, SPI offers college credit high school study abroad programs in Spain, France, Italy, Costa Rica, and China. SPI’s interactive language immersion programs combine inspiring global leadership experiences, volunteer service projects, and exciting travel excursions where language and culture come to life!

2 week program. Prepare for a college major in International Relations and potentially a career in the Foreign Service; learn about diplomatic history and protocol, negotiations and strategy. You will also acquire leadership and public speaking skills.

This in-depth introduction to the science of the seas is designed to give high-achieving high school students a head start on college while earning college credits. 2 intense weeks as you immerse yourself in marine science as you explore topics such as: Ocean history, atmospheric and oceanic circulation, deep sea ecology, plankton and nekton, early ocean explorers, marine habitats, waves and tides and hurricanes and tsunamis.

You will have full access to the new Marine Sciences Center in Southampton, including: research vessels, which will take you on two field trips to Shinnecock Bay and offshore, waterfront marine lab facilities and all campus amenities.
