---------------------------------------------------------------Welcome to Half Hollow Hills October 14, 2014 11:00 am This training will provide an overview of special education programs and services offered within the district. Programs K-12 will be covered as well as explanations of related service models. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions about programs and services during a question and answer period.

Effective Prompting Strategies October 31, 2014 11:00 am This training will provide participants with strategies needed to select, implement and fade appropriate prompts for students with autism across various settings and behaviors. Participants will learn to identify types of prompts, differentiate levels of prompting and identifying a plan for fading a prompt.

Understanding Functional Assessment and Behavior Support Plans Part I: Functional Behavior Assessment November 7, 2014 11:00am This two-part training will take participants through the process of Functional Assessment and Behavior Plan development step-by-step. During Part I, participants will learn what Functional Behavior Assessment is as well as activities used during this process to identify the functions of a behavior as well as influencing factors.

Understanding Functional Assessment and Behavior Support Plans Part II: Developing Behavior Support Plans November 21, 2014 11:00am The second of this two-part training, will extend the information learned during the training on Functional Behavior Assessment to learn how to develop appropriate interventions. Participants will learn to identify the parts of a behavior plan and select appropriate interventions for behaviors based on function.

Handling the Holidays December 11, 2014 11:00 am Participants will identify stressors children and teens with ASD experience at the holidays. They will be able to generate strategies for supporting their child's sensory needs, and will discuss using visual formats for information sharing at the holidays.

Finally, participants will plan elements of usual family routines that can be extended through the holidays.

Anger Management January 14, 2015 11:00 am Often times, children with disabilities have a difficult time identifying their emotions and controlling their impulses. This workshop will provide the participants with information on how to teach their child to identify and regulate their emotions. We will review proactive impulse control strategies and parents will learn how to identify appropriate strategies for their child.

Transition to Adulthood Presenter: Elaine Bova January 28, 2015 11:00 am This training provides information regarding the transition to adulthood and services available to students as they enter the adult world. Parents will learn about resources available their child and how to begin planning for their child as they move closer to making this transition.
