Adam Haynes There are strange and mysterious sounds When the winds of winter blow, The long nights are crystal clear and cold, And the fields and meadows are covered with snow. The stars are frosty against the sky, And the wind’s whistle is shrill, As the snow blows against the house And drifts against the hill. Yet, I like to see during the winter A white carpet on the ground, To plod aimlessly in the deep snow, where deer tracks abound. I like to feel the stillness Of a crisp winter’s night, Watching a full moon rise over the horizon, Exposing a winter wonderland beautiful and bright.

Beto Garza Demons run When a good man Goes to war Night will fall And drown the sun When a good man Goes to war Friendship dies And true love lies Night will fall And the dark will rise When a good man Goes to war Demons run, But count the cost The battle’s won, But the child is lost

Christopher lee I’m not a victim, I’m just violent. I won’t be ashamed, I won’t be silent. I hate, I fight, I scream, until... accepted. Only to control -my desire to kill. Kill for thrill, kill for credit. Call the ambulance, get the medics. Break my own bones, bleed my own blood. Celebrating the forceful... emotional flood.

Dmitirey Larin From all the things I have held throughout my entire life, your hands are my favorite. For they have known the map to places inside of me, where no one else knows a single whisper about.

Eiko Ojala I just saw a humming bird, Whispering a humble word. You say, "no, that's so absurd, to be humbled by a bird, let alone it whisper words". Delusional as it may seem, This bird it whispered things to me. Said, "take it slow" with humming wings "Abolish all unneeded things". Said, "life is now" as it zoomed by, “Without this nectar life'd be dry".. said, "take a drink and take it slow, let it sit then let it flow. Tickle your tongue, and soft your humm, Simplicity will keep you young".

Finn Campbell Let me kiss that special kiss the one that’s more than touch that gentle pressing of the lips persuading blood to rush The kiss that makes you tremble and makes your legs go weak a moist embrace of tenderness that takes you to your peak With a heady scent of passion It makes your body sway the kiss that penetrates your soul and takes your breath away It lingers for a lifetime you never will forget the bursting of your senses when our emotions met.

Kristofer Storm Look inside myself to find what is decaying me, rotting me, eating at my soul. Rid myself of it. Rip it from it’s home where it has become so comfortably warm. But once I find it; rationalize with whatever it may be. Once I know what hides within me; if I let it go, I’ll surely feel worn and even without it I’ll always be torn.

Lozano Andreas Football, glorious football. Don’t care what it looks like -. Burned! Underdone! Crude! Don’t care what those crooks like. Just thinking of growing fat.Our senses go reeling. One moment of knowing that Full-up feeling from sitting on the couch! Football, glorious football! What wouldn’t we give for That extra bit more, that’s all that we should live for. Why should we be fated to do nothing but brood on football, magical football, wonderful football, marvelous football, fabulous football, beautiful football, glorious football!

Magoz I hear her scream I hear her tiny footsteps in the Hallway Her shallow breathing speeds up my heart She is an empty shell of the person I knew Her soft skin that used to soothe me is abused by her confusion Her mumbles fill the air and her eyes are an empty abyss Day after day living with an empty shell She is nothing but a shell I spend day after day Searching for her My mom Pill after pill Doctors’ appointments left and right Until I eventually found her With tears in my eyes I found her and realized I never wanted to lose her again

Oktotaly In the same space where once laid rubies and pearls now lies a tangled necklace of simple gold. Knotted, tarnished and with one broken end, it rests there for a long time, almost hidden, amidst bracelets of diamonds and waits to shine again.

Piet Parra You could have poison in your heart And fire to your touch But nothing could ever stop me From loving you so much.

34

35

Qeuntin Jones The moon is high and bright tonight Quietly lighting the earth around me. My skin scrunches together As a chilly breeze steals warmth from me The only sound heard Comes from the invertebrates in the trees And the closest heartbeat is a mile away But there is something out here It is a creature; a creature of habit Always hunting only those who are solo It is a sly creature Creeping up on its prey silently It will drain every drop of happiness All dreams, all plans, all loves Will fade away from the victim Slowly the numbness absorbs me And I do nothing to hinder its progress Soon I am consumed in the cold darkness I know this creature This creature is loneliness

37

Rod Hunt I wonder how your lips would taste? Would they be sweet Like how I think They would be? Soft like marshmallows? Firm like a lollipop? Supple like gummies? Smooth like chocolate? But no matter how they taste, I just hope you like ice cream.

Tyler The Creator Death is nothing at all. It does not count. I have only slipped away into the next room. Nothing has happened. Everything remains exactly as it was. I am I, and you are you, and the old life that we lived so fondly together is untouched, unchanged. Whatever we were to each other, that we are still. Call me by the old familiar name. Speak of me in the easy way which you always used. Put no difference into your tone. Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.

42

43

Usher Sam I took a little time today, to reminisce of yesterday. To review our lives in the past recorded here in photographs. As I page through the years, Sometimes I may shed some tears. So many faces I have known, some passed away and others grown. Sometimes it’s hard to realize, when all spread out before my eyes, With all the pictures that I took, our whole lives are in this book.

Violetta Noy she was born to bend this way her muscles sing through the air wrapping physics round her finger handspring, handspring, tuck, plant her equilibrium ponders life and its meaning every twitch intentional every smile framed if life were more like summersaults and less like crashing planes if the truth were always inside your ears and the applause came only when you landed safe if, when you fell, there were always a dozen friends waiting to lie to you about gravity maybe she would tumble beyond the mat into rumors of spiraling fates

Yiying lu Eight deer on the slope in the summer morning mist. The night sky blue. Me like a mare let out to pasture. The Tao does not console me. I was given the Way in the milk of childhood. Breathing it waking and sleeping. But now there is no amazing smell of sperm on my thighs, no spreading it on my stomach to show pleasure. I will never give up longing. I will let my hair stay long. The rain proclaims these trees, the trees tell of the sun. Let birds, let birds. Let leaf be passion. Let jaw, let teeth, let tongue be between us. Let joy. Let entering. Let rage and calm join. Let quail come. Let winter impress you. Let spring. Allow the ocean to wake in you. Let the mare in the field in the summer morning mist make you whinny. Make you come to the fence and whinny. Let birds.
