Wild - We went to 1NYs assembly it was fantastic and I enjoyed it so much. It was nice from 1 to 10, I would give it a 10. It was about ‘where the wild things are. My favourite Part was the acting.

RHS ROCKET SCIENCE—We Are Participating. The Rocket Seeds are back! At 04:26am on Tuesday 2nd March, Commander Scott Kelly of NASA and Russian cosmonauts Mikhail Kornienko and Sergey Volkov of Roscosmos landed safely back on Earth in Kazakhstan from the International Space Station.

The capsule gently landed via parachute, after coming through the Earth’s atmosphere carrying them and the seeds that have been up in space with Tim Peake.

The seeds then travelled with Scott Kelly to NASA in Houston on a charter flight from Moscow, Russia and returned to the UK. They are now being packed up so they can be sent to us with our Rocket Science experiment pack in April!

Year 1 Make Houses My house is made out of cardboard and tissue paper. Its also made out of paper and its very nice, we worked together. We made furniture out of clay, then painted these - Sahasra 1CW PARENTS—What is the minimum age for account holders on these social medial sites and apps?

On Sunday 13th March I did a sponsored walk for the Moorfields Eye Hospital Charity. I was supposed to walk from the Hospital all the way to the London Eye, which would have been four miles, but the lead doctors of Moorfield's changed it so along with everybody else we ended up doing fie miles. Everybody raised over £100 before the walk got to wear a t-shirt which said Eye to Eye on it and you also got a number, mine was 168. I passed a lot of different buildings for example Prince William's house and the house of Parliament.

When I passed all of the buildings I thought they were all the houses of parliament and numbered 10 Downing Street. Once I finished walking we went on a boat where you could eat food like sandwiches, cake and biscuits all for free, but the drinks went. I still have my T-shirt at home to remind me of how well I id on the walk - Dennerie 5CF.

Brent Young Musician of the Year 2016 - On Dear Parents - READING UPDATE Children by year 2 should be reading roughly 90 words per minute and by year 6 this should have risen to 150 words. Is your child reading an age appropriate book?

If you feel they aren't quite achieving the expected standard have a chat with your child's teacher who will be able to help them with suitable NURSERY CHICKS — the children have watched some eggs hatch with little chicks inside during March. They had to look after them for a week after I got to feel how ‘soft’ and ‘fluffy’ they were.

3rd March 2016, I went to the new Willesden Green Library to watch the Brent Young Musician of the Year 2016. It is open to young musicians who either live or attend school in Brent. The completion is organised by Brent Music Service.

The six finalist were chosen from over 60 musicians who auditioned. It was a wonderful evening of music, which showcased some of the incredible talent in the borough. Kyle Birch a former pupil of Preston Park, was awarded 3rd place for singing with his captivating performance of Bernstein's Something's Coming (from West Side Story) and Schoenberg's Empty Chairs at Empty Tables (from Les Miserable). Absolutely stunning performance Kyle, well done. The prizes were awarded by the Lord Mayor. By Sonia Palmer

Speech and Language Therapy Coffee Morning - On 7th March, parents of children who have language difficulties had the opportunity to meet Mrs Maguire, Speech and Language Therapist and Mrs Palmer who works within the school. During this workshop, we learnt about common myths and facts, and were given tips on how to help our children. A huge thank you to these tow wonderful ladies who have helped my child develop his language skills. Speech and language difficulties can be overcome with help and advice.

Eventually, good communication skills will help children make friends ands reach their full potential - P. Le BotlanSalazai, parent of child in 1LG

BOOK WEEK was week commencing the 14th. With visiting children’s authors and poets, Joshua Siegal, Karin Littlewood, and Jared Louche, who impressed the older children, , Ruth Silver with KangaRoo Kids workshops, parents joining us to read, new classroom displays and the finale dressing us book character on Friday. In our dining hall we had two stories to watch while we ate, The Mousehole Cat and The Snowman. It was a great week with the main focus of enjoying reading books.

FIRE! BASKETBALL - On the 2nd March some of the year 3 and 4s got chosen to take part in a basketball tournament which was held at Oakington Manor Primary School. At 11:30 we had to meet Coach Rudik, in order to have an early Well done to year 6 who passed their Taekwondo worklunch. After this, we had to change into our sports kits. shops and a lots of fun as Coach then called us to the infant hall where we did some training before setting off. We left school walking to well as exercise.

South Kenton Station where we took the train to Stonebridge Park Station. From here we walked to Oakington WELL DONE to children in years 3 and 4 who took part Manor, where the tournament was held. When we entered the school we were guided to a sports hall where a in the Brent Pentathlon coach explained the rules of the game. We were split up Event which was held at into 3 teams, the pink, the black and the green teams (I Kingsbury High School on Tuesday 22nd March — they was in the green). After about 10 games it was about had fun, Coach Rudik. time for coach to tell us the positions. Sadly the pink team came last however the black team came back with 4th place, but what made us really happy is that the SPORTS RELIEF green team came first - by Widad 4CJ was on the last day of

term, children came in their sports wear and took part in lots of fun activities, some of these sponsored.

Staff and Governors also took part especially in an activity called ‘torture the teacher’. With merchandise and a cake sell after school we raised over £2000!

Tuesday 22nd March - was Spanish Lunch Day where our kitchen served delicious traditional dishes.

WOW— was on the 2nd March with lots of children walking to school. To take part in WOW and earn your badges, walk to school but especially on the first Wednesday of every month. PARENTS REMEMBER there are 800+ children all trying to get to school safely as well as yours.

Please park appropriately and safely and children remember your seat belts. There is a yellow line to indicate to parking during times shown opposite the gate. Next WOW day is Wednesday 13th

TED says you must not play on the Gym Equipment in the park — it is for adults and children 14 years and over!
