Axles, changing oil

Oil change interval every 1500 operating hours, but at least once every year.

Intermediate gear and differential have a common oil household.

WARNING!

Drain the oil only at operating temperature. Attention! Danger of scalding!

– Before unscrewing the plugs thoroughly clean the respective areas.

– When changing the oil you must drain the oil from intermediate gear (A), from differential (B). – Screw in plugs (A) and (B) with new seal ring. – Fill in oil through the filler-/level control bore (C) until it starts to flow over. – Screw plug (C) back in with a new seal ring.

Tightening torque for plugs 70 Nm (52 ft lb).

Total oil filling quantity: approx. 12.2 litres (3.2 US gal). For quality of oil refer to the lubrication chart.

– Check the oil level after a few minutes and, if necessary, top up until the specified oil level is reached and remains constant.

Rear axle with transfer box, changing oil

Oil change interval every 1500 operating hours, but at least once every year.

The splitter gear is flanged to the rear axle and has a common oil houshold with the axle.

WARNING!

Drain the oil only at operating temperature. Attention! Danger of scalding!

– Before unscrewing the plugs thoroughly clean the respective areas.

– When changing the oil you must drain the oil from the intermediate gear (A), from the differential (B) and from the transmission (D). – Screw in plugs (A), (B) and (C) with new seal ring.

NOTE! For quick filling of the axle fill in oil (approx. 1 litre) (0.26 US gal) through filler bore (E) on the transmission. Then fill in oil (approx. 11 litres )(83 US gal) through the filler and level bore (C), until the oil starts to run out of the bore.

– Screw in plugs (C) and (E) with new seal ring.

Tightening torque for plugs 70 Nm (52 ft lb).

Total oil filling quantity: approx. 13.5 litres (3.6 US gal). For quality of oil refer to the lubrication chart.

– Check the oil level after a few minutes and, if necessary, top up until the specified oil level is reached and remains constant.
