The cooling air - cover screen (arrow) is a protective screen, fitted in front of the engine cooling air intake opening. It works as a preseparator and prevents the engine cooling unit from clogging up rapidly. Due to the various operating conditions encountered, it is not possible to specify general cleaning intervals for the cover screen.
The cover screen must be cleaned:
Q At the latest when the first red LED lights up in the temperature gauge 18 engine temperature and 19 hydraulic oil temperature.
15 Engine temperature gauge
When the first amber LED lights up, let the machine run at a low idle speed for several minutes. If the engine temperature continues to increase both LEDs (arrow) will flash, the warning buzzer will sound and the control light (10) will light. Shut the engine down, perform trouble shooting, if necessary consult the customer service.
16 Hydraulic oil temperature gauge
When the first amber LED lights up, stop the machine, set the travel switch and the operating levers of the working hydraulics to "neutral" position. Let the engine run at a low speed until the oil temperature is back in the normal range. If the hydraulic oil temperature continues to increase both LEDs (arrow) will flash, the warning buzzer will sound and the control light (9) will light. Shut the engine down, perform trouble shooting, if necessary consult the customer service.
WARNING!
Switch off the engine before cleaning the screen.
NOTE! Since the combustion air for the engine is also taken in from the space behind the cover screen, a dirty screen will not only lead to overheating, but also to a higher fuel consumption and/or a decreased engine performance.
Q It is often sufficient to clean the cover screen with a hard-bristle brush.
Q
When the cover screen is very dirty, undo latch (A), remove the cover screen and clean it with high-pressure air or a jet of water.
