8.1.1 Replacing the wheel

Disassembly

•Loosen the wheel axle screw (pos 11) and punch out the axle.

•Remove the wheel together with the guards and bearings.

Assembly

•Place the guards and bearings on the wheel axle prior to assembly.

•Press the mounting axle through brackets and wheel.

•Fit the screw (pos 11) through the mounting plate and tighten it to a torque of 25 Nm.

NOTE! Verify that the wheel does not seize. It should rotate by means of hand power.

8.1.2 Replacing the wheel bearings

•Disassemble the wheel from the wheel bracket as explained in the previous section.

•Take out the guard and punch out the first bearing set.

•Turn over the wheel and punch out the second bearing set.

•Press new bearings into place.

•Add grease between the two bearing sets.

•Place the guards.

•Mount the wheel as explained in the previous section.

9- Electrical steering system – 4300

9.1 General

The electrical steering system consists of the steering unit (A) and steering servo (B). A potentiometer in the steering system sends information to the electronic module in the steering servo system. When starting the truck, a drive reference measurement is performed and the drive wheel position is calibrated using the reference sensor (C).
