HARVESTER
To operate:
1. Close the rear door 2. START the engine 3. Lower the pilot reset lever.
NOTE: If the pilot reset lever is in the lowered position the engine will not start. The pilot reset lever must be in the raised position to START the engine. Once the safety interlock system has been activated, the safety of both the operator and all persons outside the cab becomes the responsibility of the operator.
1. When the engine is running, do not allow anyone in areas of the machine where they may be crushed by moving components. 2. Maintain a safe operating distance between the machine and other personnel. Never operate the boom or attachment over the heads of bystanders.

3. Never travel near co-workers or other pieces of equipment with attachment running. 4. Do not allow people or other pieces of equipment near the machine during operation. 5. Do not turn on attachment until machine is at the working site. 6. Use only prearranged and approved signalling practices.
Do not open the escape hatch or the rear door to increase ventilation when operating the machine. Keep the rear door closed when driving or steering the machine to prevent accidental entry of branches and debris into the cab. Keep the rear door closed and use the lap and shoulder harness belts when driving or steering the machine to prevent being thrown from the operator's cab. Secure loose items in the cab. Prior to commencing work, check all equipment controls to ensure the machine responds correctly. Make sure that all safety screens and guards including the escape hatch are installed and properly secured. Always rest the attachment on the ground when operation is stopped, regardless if the engine is running or not. Operate the machine only from a seated position in the operator’s seat. Watch for ground hazards such as metal debris, wire fencing or rocks. When travelling position attachment and boom so as not to impair vision. If vision is limited by dust, smoke, fog, rain or snow, stop the machine until visibility is restored.
WARNING
Park machine at least 15 m (50 ft) away from other equipment and in a cleared area. In the event of a fire, this distance will minimize the chance of the fire spreading to other equipment.
CAUTION
Do not open cab rear door when cab is on a slope. The door is heavy and could swing out with considerable force. Anyone in the path of swing could be injured. Anyone opening the cab rear door and holding on to it could be pulled out of the cab and injured.
WHEN PARKING THE MACHINE
1. Park the machine on level ground with the attachment resting firmly on the ground. 2. Apply the swing brake. 3. Turn OFF the engine. 4. Remove the ignition key.
5. Turn OFF the battery disconnect switch. NOTE: Tier 4F machines are equipped with an after run/accessory relay. The relay disconnects power to the engine and related fuse for 90 seconds after the battery disconnect switch has been turned off. The following is still powered during the 90 seconds: • Engine ECU
IMPORTANT!
Only use the battery disconnect to turn off a running machine in an emergency. A fault code will be logged by the engine ECU for improper shut down and power down.
TRANSPORTING THE MACHINE
When transporting the machine watch that enough clearance is available on both sides and above the machine or any of its attachments to avoid contact with power or telephone lines,bridge structures etc. Before transporting the machine check all doors, panels and access covers are properly installed and secured. Improperly secured doors or panels pose a serious danger to pedestrians and other vehicles.

HARVESTING ATTACHMENT –GENERAL SAFETY
Improper operation, maintenance or repair of this product can be dangerous and could result in injury or death. Do not operate or perform any maintenance or repair of this product until you have read and understood the operation and repair information contained in the manuals provided by the attachment manufacturer. The following are general safety guidelines for harvesting attachments. The design, operation and maintenance of attachments varies among manufacturers. Always follow the specific safety, maintenance and operating procedures provided by the attachment manufacturer. The operator of the carrier and harvesting head must be properly trained in the operation of the equipment and its safety requirements.
PRIOR TO STARTING OPERATION:
WARNING
The attachment may release held trees when the cab door is opened, the pilot system is turned off or the fire suppression system is activated. Never exit the cab with a tree suspended in the attachment.
• Make sure no one is near the machine where the risk of personal injury is present. • Make sure no one is in the line of the chain saw when starting or operating the harvesting head. The hydraulically driven saw chain reaches high speeds and is an extreme hazard if the chain breaks. • Regularly inspect, check and maintain the saw guide (bar), the saw chain and sprocket, ensuring that all components are secure and not damaged as detailed in the ATTACHMENT
MANUFACTURER'S MANUAL. • Make sure all safety equipment upgrades available from the attachment manufacturer have been installed. • Before starting each shift the operator must test all functions of the carrier and attachment to ensure that they are in proper working order.
OPERATION:
Felling trees with the harvester is very dangerous and should be done only by properly trained and experienced operators.
• Lower the attachment to the ground and turn pilot system off whenever machine is not in use. • Always fell trees in the direction that they are leaning. • Never fell trees close to overhead power lines, vehicles, houses, roads/pathways, etc. • Do not allow anyone within the hazard zone of 150 m (500 ft) from the machine during operation. • Never fell trees when there are personnel on the ground within the 150 m (500 ft) hazard zone. • Never fell trees in the direction of the operator’s cab.
WARNING
The operator must release trees from the attachment, place attachment on the ground, and shut pilot system off if someone enters into the hazard zone.
WARNING
Avoid the risk of chain shot. Never operate the attachment so that the saw bar is directly in line with the cab or any personnel! SERVICING AND REPAIR
Before beginning any service work on the harvesting head put the machine in the service position.

Make sure the tip of the stick boom is fully supported. 2. Apply the swing brake. 3. Turn OFF the engine. 4. Remove the ignition key. 5. Turn OFF the battery disconnect switch.
IMPORTANT!
Care must be taken to protect the boom hoses from snagging, kinking or bending when putting the machine into the service position. Any hose that has been kinked, bent, cut or is otherwise damaged should be replaced. 6. Install any safety chains or locking parts required by the attachment manufacturer. 7. Make sure any accumulators on the attachment are completely relieved of hydraulic pressure. Always follow the specific safety, maintenance, and operating procedures provided by the attachment manufacturer. • Never place any part of your body between the drive wheel arms or delimbing arms. This area is a crush zone. Keep clear to avoid personal injury or death. • Never place any part of your body near the drive wheels. Avoid the risk of entanglement in moving parts. Keep clear to avoid personal injury or death.

• Do not process trees with the saw guide (bar) aligned with the operator’s cab. The hydraulically driven saw chain reaches high speeds and is an extreme hazard if the chain breaks. • Operate so that the chip discharge area of the harvesting head is not directed at people, livestock, houses, buildings, roads or other machines. • Be particularly observant with the zone in line with the chain saw.
