OPERATING SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
FOR TIER 4 MACHINES ONLY:
Turn OFF the engine when refuelling. Do notS≤15 mg/kg refuel the machine or work on the fuel system ULTRA LOW SULFUR while smoking or near flames or sparks. FUEL ONLY
36686AUNI R0 Attach a grounding strap to an unpainted metal surface on the machine if the refuelling tank or nozzle is so equipped. Check that no other personnel have moved into a hazardous area before starting the machine. Sound the horn to signal bystanders before starting the machine.
The operator's seat is equipped with lap and shoulder harness belts. Use both of these restraint systems at all times when operating the machine. START the engine by following the instructions in this manual. Refer to OPERATING MACHINE in SECTION 2 of the OPERATOR’S MANUAL.

Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) may irritate eyes or skin. Do not get in eyes. Do not get on skin. First Aid treatment: DEF contains Urea. If swallowed call a Poison Control Centre or doctor immediately. Do not induce vomiting. If in eyes rinse with water for 15 minutes. If on skin rinse well with water. If irritation persists seek medical treatment.
WARNING
Use only diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) which meets ISO 22241 specifications. Never fill the DEF tank with any other fluid. DEF fluid is injected into the exhaust gas stream during normal operation of the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) aftertreatment system. Use of other fluids may cause component damage, or a fire risk which could result in death or serious injury.
CAB EXITS
There are three ways to exit the cab in case of an emergency.
Rear door
• This is the main point of entry and is the only door that should be used under normal operating conditions to enter or leave the cab.
This door is also equipped with a SAFETY
INTERLOCK SWITCH. See SAFETY
INTERLOCK SWITCH ON REAR DOOR in
THIS SECTION.
Emergency escape hatch
• Use if the rear door exit has become blocked. • This emergency escape hatch is not equipped with a safety interlock switch and if left open will not deactivate the pilot controls in the cab.
Turn OFF the engine before using the escape hatch exit.
Side window
• Should be used for emergency exits only if the rear door and emergency escape hatch are unusable. This window is not equipped with a safety interlock switch and if left open will not deactivate the pilot controls in the cab. Turn
OFF the engine before using the side window as an exit. It is important the operator of the machine be familiar with these cab exits and how to use them. All operators should practice using all the cab exits to become familiar with escape procedures should they need to perform them in the dark, when the machine is in a rolled position, or other possible adverse condition. All three exits should be checked to make sure that they are operational and will function in an emergency. The safety interlock mechanism on the rear door must not be tampered with or defeated.
IMPORTANT!
Make sure the escape hatch is operational and can be opened from the inside and outside of the cab For additional information, refer to EMERGENCY EXITS in SECTION 2 of the OPERATOR'S MANUAL.

INTERLOCK SWITCH (REAR DOOR)
The rear door is equipped with a safety interlock switch to prevent the machine from being operated while the rear door is open (pilot system is shut off). Lift the red PILOT OFF lever and confirm the yellow PILOT OFF light is ON before removing seat belt. Do not use the rear door interlock switch to turn pilot OFF.
NOTE: The engine can be STARTED but machine functions will not operate if the rear door is open.
