Safe maintenance practices conform with the following general guidelines:

• Always keep the area where you work clean. Oil and/or water make the floor slippery.

• Never wear loose fitting objects or jewelry.

•Properly store or dispose of used oil. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions.

•Properly dispose of used solvents and all other cleaning/washing chemicals. Do not flush down drains. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for proper disposal.

WARNING !

Before welding or grinding on painted surfaces always sandblast (remove) at least 4-6 in. (102-152 mm) of paint. Heated paint gives off harmful gases. WARNING ! Always secure the hand pallet lift truck when carrying out repairs. A badly supported hand pallet lift truck could cause injury.

Troubleshooting

Use the troubleshooting procedures shown in Table2 as a guide only. Do not try to service this lift truck. Contact your Serv ice Department or your local authorized Raymond Sales and Service Center listed on the back of this manual.

Troubleshooting

ACTION Pump does not lift the load.An air lock in the hydraulic system.Pull up on the fingertip control and hold while pumping the handle 8 to 10 times to bleed air from the system.

POSSIBLE CAUSE

Chain anchor is out of adjustment.Turn the nut on the chain anchor clockwise until the pumping action, while in neutral, does not raise the forks.

Pull up on the fingertip control and hold while pumping the handle 8 to 10 times to purge the valve system.

Dirt or foreign particle is caught in the cone valve seat.

Pump is low on oil.Check for and fix any leaks. Then add oil as instructed in the MAINTENANCE section.

Refer to Push Bar Linkage Adjustment in the MAINTENANCE section.

The push jam nut is loose. The push bars require adjustment.

Forks raise and sink with pump action.
