Air Cleaner Air Air Cleaner Air

The air cleaner should be regularly maintained to efficiently protect the engine from dust and other harmful substances. Clean the Paper element of air cleaner with compressed air every 100 hrs. or earlier if required.

To remove the air cleaner element, remove the following :

1. Split-pin, wing nut, metallic and rubber washer.

2. Cover of air cleaner.

3. Runner sealing ring.

4. Wing nut, metallic and rubber washer of Air-Cleaner.

5. Pull out the Air cleaner Paper element.

The paper element should be cleaned with compressed air directed from inside to outside. Even after this, if the element is found choked, replace it with a new one.

The Paper element should be replaced after every 5 cleanings or after 500 hrs or earlier if required.

Assemble the air cleaner and refit the same on the Tractor, ensuring all joints to be leak-proof. After ensuring all fittings to be correct, start the Tractor.

Do not use dirty or damaged paper element as the impure air may severely reduce the engine performance and life.

Clean Diesel Fuel Diesel Fuel Clean Diesel Fuel Diesel Fuel

Diesel Fuel should be poured so that no sediment can enter the tractor fuel tank whilst it is being filled. Fuel storage facilities should allow for the periodic removal of sediment from the bottom of the storage tank.

The Diesel fuel filters will remove any sediment still present in the fuel and ensure that the fuel reaching the injection pump and injectors is free of impurities. The fuel filter should be serviced regularly to ensure maximum engine reliability. Bleeding the fuel system fuel system

The presence of air in the fuel can cause fuel stoppages. The air should be completely bled so that the machine operates satisfactorily. Thus it is very essential to bleed the fuel system after changing the Fuel filter.

Bleed the fuel system as follows.

1. Ensure that fuel lines from fuel Tank to the Fuel Filter and Fuel Filter to Fuel Injection Pump not closed.

2. Loosen the bleed screw on Fuel Injection pump.

3. Turn the starter Key in first position.

• This will operate the PRIMING PUMP AND FUEL WILL START FLOWING INTO THE FUEL SYSTEM.

4. Observe the fuel coming out from BLEED SCREW of Fuel Injection Pump.

5. Turn the Starter Key to Off position when the flow of AIR-FREE fuel from BLEED SCREW (A) of Fuel Injection Pump is observed.

6. Tighten the Bleed screw and clean the area around fuel injection pump.

7. Start the tractor and observe engine performance for symptoms of air in fuel system. Again bleed the fuel system if necessary.

Fuel Tank and Fuel Pipes and Fuel Pipes Fuel Pipes

Fill the tank each time the tractor finishes the days work. This prevents condensation inside the fuel tank. Check regularly to ensure all fuel pipe unions are tight and in good order. Ensure that vent hole provided on fuel tank cap is not choked. Water or dirt settled in the bottom of fuel tank should be drained daily, before starting the engine by loosening the drain cock till clean diesel flows.

Tamper Proofing Tamper Proofing Tamper Proofing Tamper Proofing

Calibration of Fuel Injection Pump calibration plays a vital role in Engine performance and hence the same shall not be disturbed by unauthorised persons. In order to prevent tampering, a tamper-proof arrangement is provided on Fuel Injection Pump consisting of SPECIAL SEALS. Any FIP related work should be carried at Mahindra / BOSCH

Escaping hydraulic diesel fluid under pressure can penetrate the skin causing serious injury. Do not use your hand to check for leaks. Use piece of cardboard or paper to search for leaks. Stop engine and relieve pressure before connecting or disconnecting lines. Tighten all connections before pressurizing lines. If any fluid is injected into the skin obtain medical attention immediately or else, serious injury may result.
