Fuel Filter Fuel Filter Filter

The life of the filter depends on the amount of impurities it is required to remove from the fuel. Therefore, clean fuel will not only increase the life of the filter element, but also make it more efficient. Spin-On type paper filter element is fitted in the fuel filtration system as original equipment.

Filter element should not be cleaned but only replaced every 100 hrs of operation or earlier if required.

If impaired, engine operation indicates the filter has become clogged, replace the filter element immediately. This condition will be indicated by loss of power and engine misfiring at full load.

To service the fuel filter, use a clean cloth and clean the filter assembly externally.

1. Close the fuel tank cock.

2. Loosen the Spin-On type filter element (A).

3. Remove the Spin-On type filter element (A) and discard it.

4. Replace with new Spin-On type filter element.

5. Bleed the fuel system as explained earlier.

The Fuel Injection Pump is lubricated by oil contained within it. This oil needs replacement initially at 50 hrs and subsequently every 100 hrs of operation.

Open the plug (B) and fill oil in the Fuel Injection Pump below the first line.

Drain the Oil from ( C ).
