Counterweight remover control lever
Use these levers (6) and (7) to move remover link cylinders (4) and (5) and move counterweight (1) up and down.

Remover control selector valve
Use this valve (8) to switch the hydraulic circuit for normal operations and remover operations.
Lock Switch
This switch (9) is a device to lock operation of the work equipment, swing, travel, and attachment (if equipped) when the remover operation is being carried out. Switch (10) is a speed limit device to ensure safety when operating the remover.
Operation of counterweight remover WARNING
When operating the counterweight remover device, do not allow anyone to come close to the machine.
When operating the counterweight remover device, be sure to apply the lock switches in the operator's cab compartment and in the hydraulic pump chamber.
When removing or installing the counterweight, park the machine on the flat and solid ground free of fluctuations and stones, and then do the work.
When removing or installing the counterweight, lower the work equipment to the ground to stabilize the machine.
When removing or installing the counterweight, keep the engine running at low idle.
While removing or installing the counterweight, keep a close watch on the counterweight, as it moves, to make sure that it moves without a hitch.
When the counterweight is not secured to the revolving frame, never do the digging work (i.e. the operation of the work equipment, travel and swing). By the same token, never do the same when the counterweight is stretched.
Before releasing the remaining pressure in the remover link cylinder, always tighten the mounting bolts of the revolving frame and counterweight temporarily to secure the counterweight in position. If it is not secured in position, the counterweight may move when the remaining pressure is released.
This is extremely dangerous.
Do not use this machine for digging operations if the counterweight has been removed.
Notice
Always carry out greasing each time the counterweight is removed.
In the counterweight removal and installation work, be sure to turn the remover control selector valve to the "REMOVAL / INSTALLATION" position before setting about the work. If this step is neglected, the hydraulic pump can be damaged, or the machine's life will be shortened.
When the counterweight removal or installation work finishes, turn the remover control selector valve to the original position, and start ordinary work thereafter.
Attachment Guide
When lowering counterweight CAUTION
Always stop the engine before operating the remover control selector valve.
1. Make sure that lock lever (1) in the operator's cab is in the LOCK (L) position.
2. Operate lock switches (2) and (3) inside the pump chamber to LOCK position (c).
Remark
Turn the engine starting switch OFF before operating the lock switches. If the starting switch is ON and the lock switches are operated, error (E07) is displayed on the machine monitor inside the cab.
This is not a failure, but normal operations cannot be carried out when error (E07) is being displayed. If error (E07) is displayed, turn the starting switch to the OFF position, then turn it ON again. Error (E07) display will go out.
3. Check that nut (4) for the counterweight pin stopper bolt is securely tightened.
4. Remove grip (5), cover (6) and step (7).
