Detail of failure When the controller energizes the drowsiness alarm buzzer, an abnormal current flows through the circuit.

Action of controller

• Stops to energize the drowsiness alarm buzzer circuit.

• Even if the cause of the failure no longer exists, the machine does not become normal until the starting switch is turned to the OFF position.

Phenomenon on machine Even when the driver status monitor detects drowsiness or drowsy operation, alarm buzzer does not sound.

Related information During the troubleshooting, when the starting switch is in the ON position, the drowsiness alarm buzzer sounds on and off for some period of time.

No. Cause Procedure, measurement location, criteria and remarks

1. Starting switch: OFF

2. Disconnect the connector BZ. Connect the T-adapter to the female side.

1 Defective drowsiness alarm buzzer (Internal defect)

3. Starting switch: ON NOTICE

If the following voltages are normal and alarm buzzer does not operate, the drowsiness alarm buzzer is defective.

Voltage Between BZ (female) (1) and (2)

1. Starting switch: OFF

Starting switch: OFFMax. 1V

Starting switch: ON20 to 30V

2 Ground fault in wiring harness (contact with GND)

3 Defective translator controller

2. Disconnect connectors TLC2 and BZ, and connect the T-adapter to female side of TLC2.

ResistanceBetween TLC2 (female) (18) and ground Min. 1MΩ

If no failure is found by the checks above, the translator controller is defective. (Because this is an internal defect, troubleshooting cannot be done.)
