Before removing the switch cover, follow these steps: 1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 31). Remove the switch cover:

1. Turn the computer upside down, with the rear panel toward you. 2. Remove the five Phillips PM2.0×9.0 screws that secure the switch cover to the computer.

3. Partially open the computer.

4. Use a flat-bladed tool to gently pry the tabs on the switch cover out of the slots on the computer.

5. Turn the computer display-side up, with the front toward you. 6. Open the computer as far as possible. 7. Lift the rear edge of the switch cover and swing it forward. 8. Remove the switch cover.

Reverse this procedure to install the switch cover.
