Preparing the tractor for use after a long period of storage
CHAPTER 4 Wheels
Track adjustment The distance between the outside edge of the illuminated area of the direction of travel indicators, side marker lights, tail lights and upper rear reflectors and the outside edge of the tyres must be no more than 400 mm (15.72 in) – international requirement. The maximum permissible track widths specified in the vehicle documents for travel on public roads must not be exceeded. Whenever a wheel is changed, the nuts and bolts must be tightened to the following tightening torques:
- Front wheels M22x1.5 bolts = 50 kgm (500 Nm); (361.65 lbf ft)
- Rear wheels M22x1.5 bolts = 50 kgm (500 Nm); (361.65 lbf ft)
After 20 hours of work, all the nuts and bolts fixing the front and rear wheels have to be retightened to the previous torques. Before changing the wheels, ensure that the tractor cannot move and use suitable supports.
Use compressed air to fit tyre to rim: this procedure may only be undertaken by specialists with the aid of an extension hose connected up next to the tyre.

CHAPTER 4 Wheels
Tyre inflation pressures
The levels of air pressure needed for the various tyres differ greatly. These levels differ both with different tyre dimensions and manufacturers. Please contact your tyre dealer or manufacturer for the air pressure needed for your application.
As general guideline values, the following apply for front and rear tyres undertaking: - mainly transport work approx. 1.9 bar (27.55 psi) - mixed applications approx. 1.6 bar (23.21 psi) - mainly field workapprox. 1.4 bar (20.31 psi)
For the tyre bead to seat correctly on the rim, the inflation pressure must never exceed 5 bar (72.52 psi). Higher inflations pressures may cause the tyre/rim to explode. We recommend the use of metal safety cages or tyre restraint bars when carrying out operations that require tyre inflation pressures above the values for normal use.
Note: the air pressure can usually be reduced further for field work. Your tyre dealer will also be more than willing to provide you with this information.
n
WARNING: ONLY THE TYRE COMBINATION APPROVED FOR THE RELEVANT ALL-WHEEL RATIO MAY BE USED. IF UNAUTHORISED TYRE COMBINATIONS ARE USED, GREATER TYRE WEAR OCCURS. OVERLOADS MAY RESULT IN AXLE AND TRANSMISSION DAMAGE.

WARNING: FOR THE TYRE BEAD TO SEAT CORRECTLY ON THE RIM, THE INFLATION PRESSURE MUST NEVER EXCEED 5 BAR (72.52 PSI). HIGHER INFLATIONS PRESSURES MAY CAUSE THE TYRE/RIM TO EXPLODE. WE RECOMMEND THE USE OF METAL SAFETY CAGES OR TYRE RESTRAINT BARS WHEN CARRYING OUT OPERATIONS THAT REQUIRE TYRE INFLATION PRESSURES ABOVE THE VALUES FOR NORMAL USE. avv127gb
