Description

i Reception chamber. j Backflow chamber. 1. Rest position : Both chambers, (i) and (j), have the same pressure. The spring pushes the spool to the right. 2. Injection phase : The injector's opening creates a pressure drop in the (j) chamber. The spool moves to the left, pushed by the fuel entering the (i) chamber. 3. end of injection : When the injector is closed, pressure is identical in the (i) and (j) chambers. The spring pushes the valve to the right by transferring the fuel from the (i) chamber to the (j) chamber through a throttling (C). We then return to position (1). 4. Exit closing : If the volume injected is too high, the spool moves fully to the left, until it closes the exit port (D). Return to position (1) is available only after stopping the engine.
