5.5 Side stabilizers
NOTE: Side stabilizers are a standard feature in trucks equipped with a triplex mast unit and an optional feature with duplex mast units.

5.5.1 Adjusting the side stabilizers
Adjusting the up-position of the side stabilizer:
1. Lower the side stabilizer cylinder to down-position.

2. Tap the locking screw slot with a pin punch.
3. Turn the side stabilizer cylinder to adjust the up-position of the side stabilizer. Make sure that the rubber stopper contacts the stopper plate when the cylinder is in the upposition.
4. Tap the locking screw slot with a pin punch to lock the up-position adjustment.
Adjusting the down-position of the side stabilizer:
1. Loosen the locking screw of the side stabilizer. 2. Remove the heel of the side stabilizer.

3. Insert shim plates between the heel of the side stabilizer and the side stabilizer support to adjust the position of the heel. Make sure that the gap between the side stabilizer and the floor is 6-10 mm when the side stabilizer is in the downposition.

4. Tighten the locking screw of the side stabilizer.

5.5.2 Removing the side stabilizers
NOTE: To remove the side stabilizers, you have to remove the mast unit and the battery from the truck. For instructions on how to remove the mast unit, see section 5.10.4. For instructions on how to remove the battery, see section 7.5.
1. Disconnect the side stabilizer sensor connector. 2. Disconnect the hydraulic connectors.

3. Remove the screws attaching the side stabilizers to the truck frame. 4. Remove the side stabilizers.

5.5.3 Removing the side stabilizer cylinders
1. Remove the side stabilizers from the truck frame. For instructions, see section 5.5.2.
2. Remove the circlip from the shaft holding the top of the side stabilizer cylinder in place. 3. Remove the shaft holding the top of the side stabilizer cylinder in place. 4. Remove the screws of the stabilizer extension.
5. Remove the shaft attaching the cylinder to the stabilizer extension. 6. Remove the side stabilizer cylinder.
