2-2-16. Battery voltage calibration

When you replace the EPS controller, you need to calibrate battery voltage in order to correctly activate the battery indicator.

<Preparation>

 Open the battery cover and set the digital tester to measure battery voltage.

Apply the positive (+) probe to the positive terminal of the battery.

Apply the negative (-) probe to the negative terminal of the battery.  When calibrating, the battery needs to be fully charged, so specific gravity of battery electrolyte should be over 1.25 at 20°C.

<How to calibrate voltage>

1. Set the rotary switch (RS) on the EPS controller to "A". 2. Turn on the key switch. The following screen appears.

Battery voltage setting screen

Battery Voltage (flashes)

3. Set the voltage to the same value as the actual battery voltage measured by the tester.

Press button to increase the value. Press button to decrease the value.

NOTE The allowable variance is within ± 0.1 V.

EPS controller

Set RS to "A".

When the rotary switch mode is set to OFF in the service setting,

Press or button for at least 3 seconds with pressing button (Press button first).
