D I A G N O S T I C S

Diagnostic displays are provided in the Diagnostics section of the menu for use by operators and Caterpillar service personnel. Some displays are hidden and are not detailed in this specification. Details for each visible line are given in the Parameter and Display Glossary at the end of this manual.

E R R O R S

Errors are viewed on the PMC-R by scrolling to the Error Messages section of the menu or by pressing the E-key. The top line of each error indicates the Error Type, the second line is the Error Text. Help text is available for each error by pressing the Help key while viewing the error message.

C l e a r i n g E r r o r s

When an error is being viewed, the Enter key can be pressed to clear the error. To clear all errors on the face, press the E-key while viewing errors and the “clear errors” command line from the Service section of the menu will be displayed; then press the P-key as indicated.

System Error Invalid Main Press

Indicated sensor went invalid; could be intermittent.

System Error Coding Plug

System Error Invalid Return Sensor

Indicated sensor went invalid; could be intermittent.

System Error Invalid Leg Sensor >>

Indicated sensor went invalid; could be intermittent.

System Error Invalid Leg Sensor <<

Indicated sensor went invalid; could be intermittent.

System Error Invalid Ram Pressure Switch Sensor

Indicated sensor went invalid; could be intermittent.

System Error Bidi L Break >>>

A data break occurred for at least one second on the A1 Bidi port.

System Error Bidi R Break <<<

A data break occurred for at least one second on the F1 Bidi port.

System Error Keyboard

A key was held for more than 60 sec. May be stuck. Change the PMC.

System Error Solenoid Driver

A failure has occurred in the solenoid driver; change the driver.

System Error Program Version

This PMC-R has the wrong program version compared to the neighbor PMC-Rs. Destroy the wrong program and let the PMC-R reload from an adjacent unit.

System Error Global Param Mismatch

This PMC-R has different global parameters than the connected neighbor PMC-Rs. This should correct itself automatically within 2 minutes; or use “Send global parameters” in the Service section from a unit with the correct parameters.

System Error No Solenoid Driver

No solenoid driver detected! Connect solenoid driver to clear this error. If one is connected, replace the cable, the driver, or the PMC-R.

System Error No Net Number

PMC-R has no network number; check connections between here and Server or number manually by pressing # and Enter.

System Error Data Lost – Bidi L >>

Accumulated lost messages on A1 port exceeded limit set by Configuration parameter Max Allowed Data Loss. Probably cable fault; maybe this PMC-R or adjacent PMC-R fault.

System Error Data Lost – Bidi R <<

Accumulated lost messages on F1 port exceeded limit set by Configuration parameter Max Allowed Data Loss. Probably cable fault; maybe this PMC-R or adjacent PMC-R fault.

System Error Lamp

Comms fault to attached luminaire.

System Error Low Battery

PMC-R’s internally battery is defective and cannot hold parameter values; replace PMC-R.

System Error Full Function Buffer >>

REPORT THIS TO CATERPILLAR! System was unable to send a message when needed to A1 port due to internal software error.

System Error Full Functions Buffer <<

REPORT THIS TO CATERPILLAR! System was unable to send a message when needed to F1 port due to internal software error.

ASQ ERROR Paused – umbrella lock

Umbrella Lock caused ASQ to pause; will resume if umbrella removed soon enough.
