SYSTEM OPERATION
1) Toggle the on/off toggle switch to the on position: This will activate the electronic shutdown system electronics. The LEDs on the display panel should all light up for about five seconds. This serves to test all the display LEDs and some of the circuitry.
Most of the display LEDs will then go out, and those remaining will indicate relevant conditions. Normally four lights will be on charge failure, engine oil pressure, exhaust coolant flow and run solenoid. The run solenoid has not yet been activated, hence the run solenoid display LED is still illuminated.
2) Wait for methane sensor to read: The methane sensor needs about 17 seconds to measure the methane content in the surrounding air. When the waiting time is up, the solenoid will power up, the run solenoid display LED will go out and pilot air pressure will be supplied to the shut off valve. The engine is now ready to be started. Once the system has been activated and there is no methane in the surrounding atmosphere it will remain on for ten minutes. If the engine is not started in this ten minute period the system will turn itself off. To restart the system simply toggle the on/off toggle switch off and then on. 3) Start engine: Activate the air starter valve. After the engine has started, the engine oil pressure, the exhaust coolant flow and the charge failure display LEDs will go out. 4) Drive machine normally. 5) Shutdown: When finished with the machine, toggle the on/off toggle switch to the off position. This will deactivate the electronic shutdown system electronics, thus cutting power to the solenoid and shutting off pilot air pressure to shut off valve and the engine will stop.
