Refitting the cartridge
– Refit in reverse order to removal while observing the following instructions:
Important: Position the sleeve with its pin (A) on the shaft in a position allowing to fit the pin once the cartridge is fitted.
– Before refitting the cartridge, clean the parting surface on the casing and cartridge. – Fit centering studs (B) on the gearbox casing (see 'Local manufactured tool'). – Apply a uniform layer of Loctite(518) on the sealing surface (see opposite). – Coat the O-rings (C) with miscible grease, to properly position them in the bottom of their respective grooves.
Important: Check the presence of the centering pins.
If the cab is removed: – Use hook n° 0011394390. Otherwise: – Present carefully the cartridge opposite the gearbox casing using the trolley n°0011361430. – Push the cartridge fully without forcing.

Important: To facilitate coupling the cartridge on the gearbox casing and avoid damaging the transmission gears, turn the flywheel using tool n°6005005528.
– Once the cartridge is in contact with the gearbox casing, position the fastening screws. – Tighten to11daN·m. – Tighten the screw of the automatic parking brake. – Loosen the parking brake in the cab. – Lift the front right wheel. – Turn the wheel until the pin is visible to the eye. – Position the coupling sleeve. – Engage the pin using specific tool n°0011372820. – Refit the cover with its 2 sensors. Refer to section: (Refitting the rev sensors: "B299" and"B300").
Note: always change the oil change plug gasket. Tighten to 15 daN·m.
– Refit and connect the ducts, hoses and electric harnesses connected to the cartridge and in its environment. – Fill the gearbox with oil using the depollution station n°6005712971.
Important: Use gearbox oil specified in the user manual. Note: After a test, check the sealing of the parting surface between the cartridge and the hydraulic fittings.
– Check the oil levels again. – Top up if necessary.
