The 11th annual on-property DUNLOP SANTA SIRE SALE is set to deliver an efficient solution for beef production. With 26 sire lines complemented by an influential cow herd, the 2023 sale bulls depict the strength of the Santa Gertrudis breed. Genetic depth and strength is guaranteed with over 60 years of Santa Gertrudis breeding in this offering.

This year’s line up will feature 8 first-release sons by Dunlop Ulbert (PP), 16 by the well credentialed and proven Glenn Oaks Magnate (P), as well as 17 by the fertile carcase sire, Valleyview Luke (P). The genetic diversity on offer will allow clients to attain various markets from weaners through to Jap Ox.

With a focus on commercial foundations, efforts have been made to assure that Dunlop Santa genetics thrive in all conditions. Streamlined production and emphasis on fertility has ensured consistency and economic efficiency. The commercial success of Dunlop Santas is highlighted through comparison to relevant market prices. A top of $2,774 was achieved for cull cows and $2,993 for bullocks in the past 12 months. Hence, commercial principles have played a pivotal role in the selection of sale sires.

With current industry trends and markets, Dunlop Santas have recognised the demand for polled bulls and verification of pedigrees. Over 70% of this year’s draft consists of polled bulls, with all bulls either sire or parent verified to provide clients with peace of mind.
