HERVEY Bay builders once again proved they’re a force to be reckoned with at this year’s Master Builders Wide Bay Burnett Housing & Construction Awards held earlier this month. More than 25 builders, projects and individuals were recognized at the event with Hervey Bay builders receiving a swag of awards. Coastal Wastewater Specialists were named Commercial Trade Contractor of the Year for the Gootchie Creek Escape project in the Individual Award category. Priscilla Howard, co-owner of Coastal Wastewater Specialists said they really appreciated the award as it recognised the effort from all of their team since they’ve been in business for the past 12 years. “We are lucky to have such a great team; they have become like family to us,” said Ms Howard. She said the Awards night was a great opportunity for everyone in the building industry to celebrate the challenges they’ve overcome over the past couple of years. Ms Howard said the future is looking bright as several local projects are underway in the area for other tourism ventures such as the Gootchie Creek

Escape. NH Homes took out the prize for Individual Home from $450,000 up to $550,000 for their Larsen house project in Urangan. NH Homes owner builder Nathan Hore said they were

very happy with the award. “The NH Homes team is very grateful to all our trades and suppliers for their attention to detail, reliability and professionalism to produce a superior finish enabling us to handover this beautiful home

Master Builders’ Wide Bay Burnett Regional Manager, Ian Langer, congratulated the winners across all 28 categories. “2022 was a year of unexpected challenges and hurdles, but our industry took it in their stride and produced some truly outstanding work. “From beautiful homes celebrating the coastal lifestyle, to community facilities, and even a radio station, this year’s projects are nothing short of breathtaking. “It doesn’t matter whether they’ve taken an Award home this year or not. Each of our 2022 entrants are a part of the Master Builders family and help cement why we’re so widely trusted and respected.”
