Dear Parents, Grandparents, Family, and Friends of The Heritage School,

I am so grateful to lead a school with such a rich history of community. In my last eight years as Head of School, I have had the privilege of hearing story after story about how this school came together to make this the best place for children to grow and thrive over the past 52 years. There were dads who drove the first bus, “The Blue Bus,” (and often had to push it up a particularly steep hill), parents that manned crock pots in the Sanders Gym to serve lunch before we had a cafeteria, and students that spent recess culling rocks from the current football field so we could have the very first soccer field in Coweta County. These stories clearly illustrate why our school feels like home to so many and the pride that comes from being a part of something great.

Today’s Heritage community continues to help our school move forward in story worthy ways. We would not be able to care for your children as devotedly as we do if we did not have such tremendous support from you. Whether you are manning a concession stand, volunteering in a classroom, leading the Parents’ Club, or supporting us financially through our Annual Fund or GOAL Scholarship Program, your generosity makes a difference.

We hope you enjoy this Annual Giving report and will consider The Heritage School as one of your top priorities in giving this year. As a debt free institution, we are proud of the way we responsibly operate within our budget each year. Annual Fund gifts allow us to further improve our campus facilities and our academic programs beyond the scope of our fiscal plan.

We thank you in advance for your gifts of time, treasure, and talents. Your generosity not only enhances what we offer each day to our students but also reminds us that we are stronger as a community if everyone feels a part of something larger than themselves.

Head of School

Thank you for supporting The Heritage School. And please join me in thanking our teachers and staff who support and serve our students and community every day.

For many of us, finding The Heritage School was the equivalent of finding a great treasure or inheriting a great fortune. Our beautiful campus, strong academic focus, open athletics, arts and culture are all part of the vision passed down from our founders, the Arnall, Haugen and Thomasson families. These founding families took a great risk and through hard work and sacrifice built something magical that is much more than just a school. They passed down to us time-tested values exemplified in our family culture and mission to develop the whole child—mind, body, spirit and camaraderie—by offering aca demic excellence, athletic competition and the rich beauty of the arts and fellowship.

Everyday our mission to develop the whole child becomes more important. The challenges and opportunities of society are more complex than ever. COVID set back a generation of children—both academically and socially. Our school faced unprecedent challenges and did so without forsaking our mission or community—keeping our children safe, learning and growing.

I want to thank all the long-time families who have supported The Heritage School. Some of you founded this school. Some of you joined shortly thereafter. Some of you were board members. Some of you were or are teachers, coaches and/or students. I have not met all of you, but I hear of your service, generosity and passion for our community. We would not have this school without you, and we continue to need your leadership, generosity and sacrifice.

I want to thank our new families. We also need your leadership, generosity and sacrifice. Some of you have already made very large gifts to the school. Some of you have already volunteered to serve. Thank you. We continue to need new heroes and visionaries to breathe new inspiration into our community and build upon the school’s rich history and foundational values.

Finally, I want to honor our Head of School and ask you to join me in thanking Kristin Skelly for her excellent leadership. Kristin’s heart, temperament, humility and work ethic are beyond exceptional. She is a servant leader and worthy of imitation. Kristin—Thank you for all you do.
