Polar Bear Scramble & Chili Cook-Off Results
THIS ISSUE:
Our first event of the 2024 MGA season was a huge success! 113 players (men and women) battled it out on the course and in the kitchen! Up from 89 players the previous year, the buzz about the course and the chili was real! All three winter hole locations were open and there were no pins in the ground which made for a unique challenge and plenty of opportunities for a Hole-In-One! Unfortunately, no HIO’s were made...but there were plenty of birdies! Gross Champions: Tapper Wood, Allen Oakes, Blair Hollan The champions, led by a solid Oakes, long bombing Hollan, and mustached Tapper, shot a 58 to win by two! Net Champions: Eric Simons, Bob Kent, Dennis Lyons The Net Champions blitzed the field with an impressive 54.5! Several players marveled at how well the team played and how well Simons was striking the ball. The Senior Tour is calling his name! Chili Cook-Off Results 13 pots of chili were brought to the judges station! Each one carefully crafted and developed with spices, meat, and whole lot of heat! In the end, only one chili was deemed the best as Yager blew away the judges taste buds. Richards was a close runner up and Sloneker was in third right behind the two! Thanks to everyone for coming out and making it such a special event! We look forward to seeing everyone next year!
