Fall is right around the corner and cooler temperatures are not far behind…hopefully. I’m sure all of us are looking forward to some cooler weather after a hot summer in the south. Fall is also a favorite time of year for football (Go Steelers!) and more importantly, golf, tennis & pickleball as well as private events. We have a busy fall schedule lined up and this provides all our clubs on the island the opportunity to make a difference in our member's and guests' experience

How can you make a difference to the overall experience? Below are a few examples of how small actions can have big outcomes.

Simply engage a member or guest and offer a genuine smile by welcoming them to your respective property

Thanking members and guests for playing or dining at your facility

Use the member or guest name at least three times during your interactions. Name recognition is a game changer because it elevates the experience to new heights. These Heritage fundamentals can turn the experience from good to great.

Please contact your supervisor and ask about our Heritage Fundamentals These fundamentals are outlined on pocket cards for easy access and implementation

Employee appreciation: Be on the lookout for our upcoming ALL employee golf and or Pickleball events. These afternoon employee events are designed to be fun and social with a little competition. I hope to see you at one or both of these upcoming employee events

All Island HGG Employee Golf Championship

Our Inaugural All Island Employee Golf Championship was hosted at Port Royal Golf & Racquet Club on Saturday, July 15, 2023 We had 30 team members participate and all four Heritage clubs were represented at our 18-hole individual stroke play tournament.

Upon arrival, all players received a tee gift which included, an Oyster Reef & Port Royal custom logoed hat and two sleeves of Callaway Chrome soft golf balls In addition, we also had closest-to-the-pin prizes for all par 3’s and food and beverage following play

The Barony course was in excellent condition for this event and Mother Nature held off the afternoon rain showers until all players were finished. Special shout out to all department heads for supporting this event and working shifts so their respective team members were able to play.

DIJONVINAIGRETTE

FROM THE KITCHEN OF CHEF MICK - PALMETTO HALL GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB

Ingredients

2 Tbs Sherry Vinegar

1/2 Tbs Minced Shallot

1/2 Tbs Dijon Mustard

1/3 C Extra Virgin

Olive Oil

1 Tbs Fresh Parsley Finely

chopped

Salt and Pepper to Taste

Directions

Whisk vinegar, shallots, dijon mustard, salt, and pepper together. Slowly add olive oil while whisking briskly until the dressing emulsifies. Add fresh parsley once emulsified.

Kevin Finnin is the employee we would like to recognize for June Kevin is a great asset to our golf department. He continually makes sure that the golf shop is neat and stocked every day and keeps track of all incoming orders and shipments His firstclass service to our guests is beyond compare and he does not deviate from this at any time. Thank you, Kevin, for all you do.

Lennin is a very important member of our kitchen staff and does a great job every day He is dedicated to making sure all guests are enjoying their food and his fellow kitchen staff is taken care of. He mainly works on the fry station but also works the middle line We appreciate everything you do Lennin!
