Why you should remove the bur before sterilizing your dental handpiece:
It’s important to remove the bur from a dental handpiece before sterilizing. If you sterilize the handpiece with the bur inserted it can damage the bur and potentially the handpiece due to high temperatures and pressures involved in sterilization processes. Be sure to remove the bur and sterilize it separately when application.
