The disadvantages of being a Florist 1. One of the disadvantages of being a florist is that compared to other jobs, floristry is not a high paying occupation. 2. There is also a lot of competition for jobs. 3. You may experience some stressful working conditions during peak holiday seasons, such as Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and Christmas. 4. There are regularly time critical jobs with unforeseen deadlines & urgent lastminute orders or additions to the original order. 5. While there is job satisfaction in their artistic creation when working on a wedding, there can also be stress when dealing with some stressed out brides. 6. Early mornings — if you are responsible for sourcing the flowers, you will need to wake up in the early hours of the morning to go to suppliers and markets to buy the flowers you need for your inventory. You may find yourself doing a full days work before you’ve even opened your shop.
