Feet Are Fascinating It was Leonardo da Vinci who stated that “the human foot is a masterpiece of engineering and a work of art.”

When it came to matters of structure and beauty, few could match the renaissance genius’ eye.

He realised the foot was nature’s ultimate sculpture.

Da Vinci was right. Everything our feet do confirms them as a marvel of engineering. Their network of nerves, muscles, tendons, joints and blood vessels, all working in unison, helps us walk, stand, balance, and run. They contain a quarter of all the bones in the human body.

When Will I Ever Go On Holiday Again?

It has been nearly eight months since my last holiday. It was back in January, when I went to Spain, Madrid and Barcelona.

And then the World went to pot with Covid-19. I know it sounds like I am moaning, complaining, but I’m not really. Rubbish things happen and you just have to get on with it. The problem I’ve got is that I don’t know when I will next be able to go on holiday.

This year looks out, as does a large part of 2021. I may be an adventurous traveller, I love my adventures. But I am not a reckless, stupid traveller. At the moment, I am not prepared to get

on an aircraft. I just don’t want to take the risk. I wouldn’t be comfortable.

On top of that, even if I were prepared to jump on a plane, which I’m not, what is the point? Especially if you are travelling on your own, when on holiday, you want to meet others. That is a big part of the joy of travelling. With all this social distancing malarkey, socialising with strangers is off limits. Also, having to wear a mask when out and about sightseeing is off putting as well. It got me thinking. In the last eight months I have only been around 15 miles away from Helston, maximum. I’ve been

to Penzance, Coverack, Church Cove.

That’s it! This is phenomenal. I can’t remember the last time I have done so little travelling. Probably when I was at school, over 25 years ago. My objective in life, is each year, to go to a country I have never been to before.

I was doing well. But, of course, I will have failed in 2020. So in 2021 I’ll have to make up for it. I will have to go to two new countries! Kenya is first on my list. I have only been to Nigeria in Africa. And I have never been to South America, so perhaps Brazil.
