Builders merchant to host anti-theft tool marking event RGB BUILDING SUPPLIES at Porthleven is inviting local tradespeople to protect their equipment against theft with a free tool marking event next week. Between 10am and 1pm on May 13, Devon and Cornwall Police will be in the branch offering advice and handing out free tool marking kits supplied by the firm. The kits can help to deter the theft of equipment and make it more difficult for stolen equipment
to be sold, while helping to reunite tools with their owners. Visitors to the event will be offered stickers to place in vehicles warning there are no items of value inside. Kim Foster, Crime Prevention Officer at Devon and Cornwall Police, said: “We cannot impress on people enough the value of property marking. Should the worst happen, and tools are stolen, marking them will increase the chance of having them returned.”
