The career I have chosen to research is journalism. I specifically chose this career because I love writing, designing, and reading the news and learning about the news of the day. I read a lot of news, review articles, my favorite, opinion articles, and the internet is my favorite resource. I enjoy writing well enough to do it for the rest of my life. The reason I want to have this career is that I am very excited about the idea of delivering news, and writing stories for people who want to be heard. I want to find the smaller social groups, and age groups and share a story about them. The minorities need to be heard, everyone needs to be heard. I want to be their ticket to getting out of a bad situation. I want to help them to tell their story and feel like they have hope that someone that cares for them and is willing to help. I think that is the main reason I want to be a journalist.

I know that in this career you have to know how to write interesting stories and capture the reader's eyes and mind. I need to take classes that deal with specific topics that really amplify their time in those departments. I have to be able to know how to read at an appropriate level, and work on vocabulary skills. A journalist has to work on time and cannot procrastinate, I cannot afford to be shy around people and I know I need to get in people's faces and business sometimes to get a good story. It is a program that is based on the health career field, especially nursing. I have this course for three classes a day and it takes up most of my school day. These classes have given me invaluable information and training that will be very useful in my collage courses. My volunteer work at the Veterans Hospital will also help me with becoming a RN because it is sort of like on–the–job training. I get to experience working with patients, in a real hospital setting. Through out my high school career I never took my education seriously. For most of the four years it was a big blur. I'm not quite sure if it was because of me or if I found myself blaming my surroundings or teachers for my lack of focus and strive to learn. A failure can mean different things to everyone else. The career fair was one of the most unique experiences I have had. There were hundreds of companies lined up in the ARC. Before I went to the fair, I had to take several steps to prepare myself. Before I came to campus, I packed my suit. I had just bought a new one, since my old one was too small. A couple days before the career fair, I went to the bookstore to buy a padfolio and resumepaper. These two things are necessary for everyone that goes to the career fair. My Future career consists of becoming an Architect. Being an architect means that one is a licensed professional who works with designing a structure that is both attractive, safe, and functional.
