What Role Does Religion Play In Hamlet
In life, religion can play a huge role in peoples actions and decision making. This holds true not only in the real world but also the literary one as seen in the play Hamlet by Shakespeare. In the play, Hamlet exhibits characteristics of faith with mentions of heaven and hell as well as a god and a devil. However, there is no clear mention to narrow down his views to a single religion. These religious views do however play an important part in Hamlets decision making and the actions he carries out. Shakespeare s work brings out the dilemma of right and wrong, moral and immoral with Hamlet being a prime example of these conflicts. In the play, there are many conflicts in which Hamlet s religion plays a part in. An example of religion dictating
Examples Of Social Stratification In The Great Gatsby
Matthew Foung
Per. 5
Prompt #3
It is impossible for man to create a perfect society where there are no classes. It is inevitable and classes will emerge; the wealthy will rise to the top and the poor will sink to the bottom of the social pyramid. This separation not only affects general living but also relationships with other classes. In The Great Gatsby by Scott Fitzgerald, social stratification is evident and separated by three settings: the Valley of Ashes, West Egg, and East Egg.
Located between New York City and West Egg, the Valley of Ashes is a place where the outcasts of society and the indigents reside. This desolate area is filled with ashes [that] grow like wheat into ridges and hills and grotesque gardens (27). This simile ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Tom, a New Haven alumnus and the son of wealthy parents, is a sheer resemblance of the upper class. He was a sturdy, straw haired man of thirty with...two shining, arrogant eyes...and a body capable of enormous leverage (11). His striking appearance gives off an immediate sense of dominance. He would often tell people that he is stronger and more of a man than you are (11). His aura that he emits strongly affects those around him. Because Tom is of the aristocratic blood, he naturally looks down on people and towers over them. When he saw car wrecks in the Valley of Ashes, Tom jokingly said, That s good. Wilson ll have a little business at last (145). Tom knows there are people like George who suffer everyday trying to make business and yet he doesn t care at all about them. After Gatsby s death, Tom and Daisy decided to leave East Egg and escape from the drama that had caused. Nick described them as careless people, Tom and Daisy they smashed up things and creatures and then retreated back into their money (188). Nick wasn t very surprised to find out that they had left East Egg. He was disgusted by the hollowness of the upper class and how they let others clean up or pay for the mess they had created. East Egg, the pinnacle of the social pyramid, was a class that towered above the rest and was protected by the vast amounts of wealth and
Week 6 case study Scenario 1 D.W. is a 23 year old married woman with 3 children under 5 years old. She came to her physician 2 years ago with vague complaints of (C/O) intermittent fatigue, joint pain, low grade fever, and unintentional weight loss. Her physician noted small patchy areas of vitiligo and a scaly rash across her nose, cheeks, back, and chest at that time. Laboratory studies revealed that D.W. had a positive antinuclear antibody (ANA) titer, positive dsDNA (positive lupus erythematosus), positive anti Sm (antismooth muscle antibody), elevated C reactive protein (CRP) and erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), and decreased C3 and C4 serum complement. Joint x ray fi lms demonstrated joint swelling without joint... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Is that right? How should you respond to his concerns? Scenario 2 K.D. is a 36 year old gay professional man who has been human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) positive for 6 years. Until recently, he demonstrated no signs and symptoms (S/S) of acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). The appearance of purplish spots on his neck and arms persuaded him to make an appointment with his physician. When he arrives at the physician s office, the nurse performs a brief assessment. His vital signs (VS) are 138/86, 100, 30, 100.8° F. K.D. states that he has been feeling fatigued for several months and is experiencing occasional night sweats, but he also has been working long hours, has skipped meals, and has been particularly stressed over a project at work. K.D. s physical examination is within normal limits (WNL) except for his rapid heart rate and respirations, low grade fever, and skin lesions. The doctor orders a chest x ray (CXR), CBC, lymphocyte studies, ultra viral load, Cytomegalovirus (CMV) assay, and a PPD (purified protein derivative) test. K.D. made an appointment to return in 5 days to discuss the results of his tests. Over the next 2 weeks, K.D. develops a fever of 101° F, nonproductive cough, and increasing shortness of breath (SOB). Late one night he becomes acutely SOB, so his roommate, J.F., takes him to the emergency department (ED) where he is subsequently admitted to the hospital with probable
Descriptive Essay On Scrooge
Overly grumpy and has extortionate avarice, this is Scrooge. Scrooge may also be malcontent, and he is this little miserly ol curmudgeon. Happiness, kindness, and Christmas, Scrooge hates, until a clique of three apparitions comes and shows him otherwise. May I also add the fact that Scrooge is not very liberal, instead he is odious, and misanthropic. This man was a miserable, depressed, heavy hearted man. According to the text, no one ever stopped Scrooge in the street to say, with a gladsome look, My dear Scrooge, how are you? When will you come to see me? Scrooge has an unfortunate reputation of being antisocial, depressed, negative, untrustworthy. Extremely uncaring, and thoughtless to the poor people, Scrooge is, as he thinks there is a jail for poor people. In general, Scrooge is just very negative. The triplet of ghosts comes to show Scrooge the reasons of why it is bad to be negative, antisocial, and untrustworthy. Also, Scrooge is very much a gargantuan jerk. The three ghosts give Scrooge a last chance to change his unfortunate, bad reputation into a fortunate, positive reputation. The first of the three spirits was the spirit of Christmaspast. The spirit of Christmas past took ol dolorous Scrooge to see his past childhood. The text states that they passed through Scrooge s wall, and stood upon an open country road, with fields on either end. This city had vanished in present time. Good Heaven! Said Scrooge, clasping his hands together, as he looked about him. I was bred in this place, I was a boy here. The significance is that Scrooge learns to not be such a gargantuan jerk. Scrooge s feelings are as if he is being tortured by the spirit of Christmas past. As you would expect, Scrooge hated watching his childhood past, and begs the spirit of Christmas past to dispel him from his childhood. Scrooge very much is gargantuanly odious of watching his childhood, as he cannot bear it. The ghost of Christmas past takes Scrooge back.
Scrooge wakes up, as it is about to be one o clock. It already has happened once, so Scrooge is used to all of it now, so he stays calm, as he pulls apart the bed curtains all by himself, and Scrooge also prepares to not freak out this time, though, nothing happens.
The -for and Against Argument with Regards to Innate and...
Q.1 In your own words, detail the for and against argument with regards to innate and learned behaviour. Feel free to include your own opinion, but be sure to justify it. Try to include an equal amount of information for the both sides. Use at least 500 words for your answer. For many years psychologists have been researching behaviour patterns from birth. This is where the Nature vs Nurture debate begins. Nativists believe that humans are born with various skills needed to survive, where as Empircist believe that humans acquire all or almost of all their behavioural traits from nurture . Some behaviours are innate, unlearned and instinctive. From the moment we are born there are instinctive motions that we do. An example of this... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We were both encouraged to breast feed and having had daughters only a few months apart we shared the experience for a short period of time. My sister struggled, with my niece unable to latch onto her for several weeks. Feeding time soon became a very traumatic experience for both parties, however my daughter and I had a completely different experience. From the first feed we had success, it continued that way for many months. Later my sister learnt that her daughter had had colic , which is a condition in which an otherwise healthy baby cries or displays symptoms of distress frequently and for extended periods of time, without any discernible cause. With this information in mind, it left me wondering whether it in fact took my niece a longer period of time to learn how to breast feed, or if the natural motion was there but her colic condition prevented this from happening. Nurture, historically was referred to as the care given to children by their parents, with a mothers role being of particular importance. This term is now regarded as any environmental factor including external family, their peers, as well as extending influences such as media. BINNS (1965) demonstrated this experimentally. He studied babies less than 5 days old and found clear differences in a babies reactions to being suddenly disturbed. [ref1] (Ahrens 1954), stated that from the 2nd to the 7th month of

CSSA AN INTRODUCTION
The comprehensive Social Security Assistance Scheme (CSSA) is surely one of the most influential social welfare in Hong Kong, in terms of money and beneficiary. In the fiscal year of 2010 alone, 19 billion was spent on CSSA, which increased noticeably by 40% as compared with the expenditure ten years ago. As at the end of 2009, total number of CSSA cases amounted to 289 139, representing an increase of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It seems that CSSA was able to fulfill the very basic philosophy of social security policy and social policy in general terms, which is residual or remedial. CSSA is somewhat a passive scheme as a rescue if the applicant himself, or his family failed to help. It is remedial because it functions only if you fall and will not prevent you from falling.
This is of no doubt that CSSA can solve immediate issues, but not the root of it. In fact there are changes that CSSA can make to help better cope with this problem. Moreover, there is room of improvement of the efficiency of the scheme, as it has become more and more complex that something can be done to make it more efficient as a safety net. And as progress, it is vital that we look at the possible policy that can be adjusted to better cope with the situation as things do change over time.
One of the major characteristics of CSSA is that it is a means tested scheme. In a nutshell, as long as the applicant meets the requirements, the applicants are entitled to get the benefits, as a matter of right. What they do is to assess the quantitative elements of the applicants, such as how many assets they have, how much they earn per month, the severity of his sickness, and treat them as fair as possible, without looking at
Strategy:
1) Sale and lease back Strategy:
Sale And Lease Back Strategy
Indigo Airlines followed a unique sale and lease back strategy which is found to be very effective (Raja Prabhakar, 2013). It is an agreement between the airline and the leasing company. The aircraft which is delivered from the manufacturer is immediately leased to a leasing company by the airline and again the same aircraft is taken back for lease for five years. At the end of five years the aircraft is permanently handed over to the leasing company. This strategy makes the airline free from debt associated to the aircraft, depreciation etc. and also the airline gets some extra profit apart from the investment made. So, there will be enough cash available with the airline to make reinvestments. Indigo made a profit of $4 to $5 million on each complete transaction (Mueller, 2013).
Indigo is the most active user of this strategy in the LCC segment in the world. Indigo completed 37 such transactions in two years period from 2011 to 1st May 2013 (Raja Prabhakar, 2013). Virgin Australia is the second largest user of this strategy which has completed 35 transactions. India s Spicejet also have completed 28 transactions and is after Lion Air (Mueller, 2013).
Indigo leases an aircraft for an average lease period of five and half years. This approach avoids the costly maintenance repairs of aircrafts that would creep in after 6 years. Mainly D check (maintenance check) will be due at this time which is very expensive
Label Me Stereotypes
Don t Label me The single story creates stereotypes, and the problem with stereotypes is not that they are untrue, but that they are incomplete. They make one story become the only story . Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. There is no doubt that the media has a significant impact on individuals in society because of the tendency to create stereotypes. However, stereotypes by themselves are harmless, but some individuals, who tend to think stereotypically, create the big problem named labeling . Very few of us do not take stereotypes seriously since most people tend to use general opinion instead of critical thinking. Time goes by and that means that stereotypes should not be regarded as something immutable. There are many stereotypes in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In one scene of Statham s thriller Transporter 3 hero is talking with the kidnapped daughter of the Ukrainian minister, who was supposed to deliver to Ukraine, he said: He spoke in general about you Russian. However, she is outraged because she is not the Russian woman she is Ukrainian. And she explains that Russians and Ukrainians are very different, here, and here, pointing first to the head, then to the heart. A lot of people ask me questions, Is the Ukrainian languageis similar or the same language as Russian? Are Ukrainian people are somehow Russians? According to the article Russian and Ukrainian languages , the Ukrainian language has as much common with the Russian language, such as the English language with a Dutch namely, 37 38% of the variance in vocabulary (Iya, 2010). It is curious, but Ukrainians often seem unfriendly to strangers, it seems that we are always in a bad mood and speak very quietly. I completely agree because it is very rare to meet a person in Ukraine who loudly speaks or laughs in public places. We do not notice it, but this is a part of our culture. Parents usually teach their kids to be calm and a quiet in public places. Most likely, we seem very hard outside, but Ukrainians are very fragile and tender inside. We consider ourselves as very hospitable, ready to help, to give advice to

The Sand Creek Massacre was a difficult point during the Colorado War in 1863 1865. It held many struggles and disagreements, which lead to many retaliations, from both the Indians and the settlers. The Indians had been alliances with the white men until the massacre, which stated the settlers betrayal to all tribes. The Sand Creek Massacre involved many native tribes, including the Cheyenne, Arapaho, Sioux, Kiowa, and Comanche. Among many of these tribes were the targeted, Black Kettle and White Antelope leaders of the Cheyenne. Left Hand and Little Raven were the Arapaho chiefs. The Cheyenne and the Arapaho were the tribes that were mainly affected in this massacre. (Hoig 15) There were many people and settlers involved in the Sand Creek Massacre. A very important settler was Colonel John M. Chivington. Chivington was in charge of many Colorado volunteers during the Colorado War. John was appointed by the governor of the whole Colorado Territory. The governor s name was William Gilpin. William didn t mind any of the Indians. Gilpin offered to make Chivington chaplain, but Chivington is supposed to have said: I feel compelled to strike a blow in person for the destruction of human slavery. ( Myers 2) Chivington was under direct orders of Maj. Gen. Samuel Ryan Curtis during the war. During this time the settlers decided they wanted to make a peace treaty with the Native Tribes. The Tribes have always respected the whites but the whites wanted to
