Girls do this; boys do that. From a very young age, children are taught what they can and cannot do solely based on their gender. We are told what we can and cannot like. Society has set up expectations and rules that we must follow, referred to as gender stereotypes. With each generation these stereotypes become stronger and stronger. Those who do not obey these stereotypes are called names and picked on. But society has never told us what happens when someone does not fit this mold. We have never been instructed on what to do if someone does not like what they are supposed to like, when someone does not do what they are supposed to do. This is the moment when Jeanette realized that Jazz was going through much more than a phase. She scheduled doctor appointments and therapy appointments, finally receiving a diagnosis. About 700,000 people in the United States have the condition. People with Gender Dysphoria are referred to as being trans or transgender. One of the most overlooked part of being transgender is that it is uncontrollable. A transgender individual cannot erase their condition or make it go away. Life is made to be so much more challenging for them because of society. Due to personal and religious beliefs, many people frown upon those with Gender Dysphoria. For others, it is a very abstract concept, and they fear transgender people because they are different. But society s thoughts are leaving a very negative and sometimes dangerous

But, over the years, the reverse has more often than not be the case in Nigeria. Before and after independence, the state of Nigeria has always been riddled with the problem of ethnicity, and the civil service as an institution that is suppose to be transparent and impartial has been affected by this trend, so much so that the citizenry are beginning to lose faith in the civil service institution due to poor and ineffective service delivery. Given the above view, this paper intends to ascertain the claim that, ethnicity has impacted negatively on civil service delivery in Nigeria. In the circumstance effort will be made to answer the following questions:
(i)What gave rise to ethnicity in the civil service?
(ii)How has it affected the service?
(iii)What concrete measures have been take to solve the problem?
(iv)How could such problems be overcome?
THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK In other to help us analyze and understand the concept of ethnicity and how it is being sustained in the Nigerian civil service structure, the theory of prebendalism will serve as a guide. The theory of prebendalism is said to be associated with the works of the German Scholar and Sociologist Marx Weber. Though the theory over the years have been developed and worked on by other scholars like Richard Joseph etc. According to Joseph (1987) the theory of prebendalism states that, offices are
Roland Barthes analysis of the photograph in Camera Lucida is based on his introspective experience with photography s appearance. The book consists of reflections of emotions felt during his experiences, which essentially defines a phenomenological approach. Phenomenology, according to David Woodruff Smith, is concerned with the things as they appear in our experience...thus the meanings things have in our experience (Smith). For photography, the appearance of the photograph is produced through the physical relationship between the referent photographed and how it is imprinted in film. Therefore, in the experience of a photograph for Barthes, the sign is determined by that physical relationship. Although, Barthes analysis of the photograph includes both indexical and iconic aspects, this paper seeks to argue that the indexical aspect of a photograph is the prominent sign of the photograph because of Barthes phenomenological approach to photography. To be clear, I am analyzing how Barthes perceives photography as indexical from his phenomenological approach and proving how it serves the indexical sign.
First, we must consider how Barthes speaks of indexicality when describing the Camera Lucida s purpose, which he says is to find the noeme of photography. He eventually concludes that the noeme is the undeniability of that has been , which refers to the indexical truthfulness of what has physically been in front of the camera. He
Ever since the beginning of creation, species of animals have gone extinct. The most notable in history were the dinosaurs and the dodo bird. Now, in recent years it has been the Bali tiger, West African black rhinoceros, American cheetah and hundreds of others. In the last century, the rate of extinction has been accelerated to an estimated level that is ten thousand times greater than natural levels. Currently in the United States at least one third of native animals are at an increased risk of extinctionand over half of those are federally listed as endangered. With the Endangered SpeciesPerseveration Act of 1966 passed under President Nixon, the government made its first move to offer protection to endangered species. Since then, every president, including Ronald Regan, Jimmy Carter and Gerald Ford, have included the protection of endangered animals, as part of their domestic policy. With the passage of numerous restrictive laws and the spending of billions of dollars, the question has been raised many times whether the government has a duty to offer protection to endangered species. I say that the government should protect endangered animals. One objector might say that for the amount of money, energy and time the government has spent to protect endangered species, they have had very little success. The United States spends an average of $1.7 billion yearly, money that comes mostly from taxpayers, to help run their expensive programs. To show for it all, only 21
Since my research involves comparing Mulan and Moana, establishing the relationship of these two films is important for my thesis credibility. These films were not randomly chosen for a comparison and contrast paper. In fact, they were carefully selected because of the relationship that exists between these films; they come from the same filmstudio and are constructed with some identical elements. Additionally, my research is centered on how these films are similar within the overall storytelling realm and the Disney specific storytelling realm. Before delving into literature that mentions these films specifically, it is crucial to introduce a theory that accounts for why and how these two films share similar plot elements. Battered Woman Syndrome has been recognized as a subcategory of post traumatic stress disorder (Walker, 2009). All women who have been battered do not meet all of the criteria in the DSM V for post traumatic stress disorder but many of them do (Walker, 2009). It is also important to note that women who suffer from Battered Woman Syndrome may suffer from other mental health conditions. Treatment should be tailored to fit the unique needs of the battered woman. However, according to Walker (2009) treatment of post traumatic stress disorder and Battered Woman Syndrome may include a combination of feminist and trauma therapy. Feminist therapy helps the victim understand the situational factors that are out of her control which may motivate her to accept and change the factors that she can control (Walker, 2009).... For example, suing an abuser for financial resources after filing for divorce may be an empowering action in the midst of such stressful legal action (Walker, 2009). On the other hand, trauma therapy helps the victim better understand her psychological symptoms that come from her exposure to trauma (Walker, 2009).Distinctive trauma triggers include the memory of the abusers face, the sound of his voice, and even the batterers scent during the abuse (Walker, 2009). The sensitivity to these triggers can interfere with new relationships and many times never fully go away (Walker, 2009). It is imperative to empower these victims of trauma to strive for change but it is equally important to be able to explain how the abuse and fear triggers desperation in the victim as mental health professionals. Documenting the clients comments about the abuse and the fear of her abuser may help mental health professionals better understand Battered Woman s Syndrome (Walker,
Picture this on the basketball court and you are playing very good. Then it all turns bad. Your start making turnovers and messing up the plays. Then the coach starts to yell at you instead of helping you. What do you do? This is why coaches need to stop screaming at their players and just help them. These three reasons explain why they should stop. One reason is that some players have way more talent than others and coaches don t realize it. Another reason is you can make relationships with your coaches but you can t since they are yelling at you. The third reason is their health because coaches can hurt the players confidence and their self esteem. This is why coaches should stop yelling at the players and be nice to them and help them.

The coaches don t bother fixing it they just yell at them if they get it wrong or mess up. Yes, some players don t have that much talent that others have.If that is the case then you have to show your coach that you are good or that you need help so he can help you improve your skills. Also, the coach isn t the only one that can help or teach you. Your teammates can also help you. But, that means that you have to be nice to them so they like you and so they want to help you. If your teammates help you can return the favor by helping them with skills that they don t know. Do you realize that some players have not a lot of skill and then their are kids with a lot of skill and the coaches are discriminating some of the players because of it? So,the coach has to be fair and treat the players equally and not yell at some players with low talent because they can t do some things that the highly talented players can. When Socrates discussed the idea that sophists would be the most likely teachers of virtue among the community, Anytus strongly declares that, while he has never met a sophist, he adamantly opposes them and their teachings. Even though sophists were considered the experts on virtue at the time and taught countless young men and nobles, Anytus believes that they are essentially scamming the youth and teaching false ideas for a profit. Though Anytus himself is not an expert himself on the topic of virtue, he believes that his opinion is correct and that sophists are essentially a negative influence on their society. However, he does put his faith in other experts of the community and those with beneficial knowledge. This is not much different

Samsung is able to achieve and maintain its low cost position due to various factors. Samsung has always emphasized on process and production efficiency. This gives the firm its competitive advantage in terms of speed of new product development and superior product quality and design, which translates into brand value.
All in all, it is the interaction of the various activities and people of the firm as well as the visionary leadership of Chairman Lee that brought success to Samsung s strategy.
Q2. Samsung needs to examine if the firm is able to sustain its low cost advantage in view of the Chinese s entry into the memory industry. Evidently, the Chinese are leveraging on low costs, its engineering talent and government subsidy for entry, delivering on prices which are valued by consumers, and in turn gain market share in the industry.
One option is for Samsung to collaborate with a Chinese partner. No doubt, expanding through joint investments in China would enable Samsung to achieve higher cost savings than at present. However, sharing of blueprints and technology know how with the Chinese may pose potential intellectual property (IP) rights issue since the IP laws are still not as developed in China. Moreover, in the memory chip industry, in which high reliability of products is often associated with the branding of the producer firm, collaborating with Chinese partners may potentially degrade Samsung s long standing premium branding in their product quality.
