Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are different types of lodgings to cater to the different tourist groups. These range from youth hostels to boutique hotels and high end hotels, with numerous options in between as well. The most sought after lodgings among these are the Paradors , which are usually hotels run by the government and some of which are at the higher end of the spectrum when it comes down to pricing. These Paradors are usually located in heritage sites or historic buildings and give visitors an authentic feel during their stay. Most of these are fairly reasonable in terms of pricing taking into account the high quality amenities and facilities that they have to offer. Some of these Paradors also have a restaurant that serves regional and traditional cuisine and delicacies. There are about 90 of these Paradors in Spain and together they offer a total of more than 10000 rooms. Apart from these, Spain also offers campsites, tourist apartments for those who want to stay for a longer duration of time, guest houses, accommodation in rural areas such as country houses and also distinctive accommodation facilities which have an element of tradition associated with them and these are mostly found in the rural areas and are refurbished buildings. Examples of such accommodations are the Pazos in Galicia which

Latin American countries are American countries that were colonized by the Spanish and people speak Spanish, Portuguese, and French. These are all languages that are derived from the Latin language and are known as romance languages. Latin American countries consist of Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, and more. Culture is a very broad topic to discuss, especially for these countries with how many traditions and arts they have. Latin American countries are known for expressing in creative ways what is important to them. They do this with a passion and love. Examples of creative things are art, cinema, dances, music, festivals, food, and literature. Each of these things is created, planned, and designed uniquely to reflect on certain people and historical events and celebrate them. Typically, parties for these traditions are huge and celebrated with food and drinks. Examples of holidays and fiestas are Navidad, La Semana Santa, Día del Trabajo, Cinco de Mayo, Dia de las Madres, El Dia de los Difuntos, Quince Años celebrando, Las Mananitas, and Dia de Los Muertos. A big example is Dia de Los Muertos (the Day of the Dead). This is a celebration of the dead and their coming back into the world for a short time to visit. Dia de Los Muertos is a Mexican holiday that occurs on November 1st and November 2nd. It is celebrated all throughout Latin America. This holiday brings all family and friends together in order to celebrate the dead and their coming back into the world and guide them on their spiritual pathway. Dia de Los Muertos is more of a happy event than anything else. Instead of mourning or fearing death, family and friends celebrate with laughter and dances. Festivals and large celebrations are used to honor the dead throughout this holiday. Calacas and Calaveras, which are skeletons and skulls, are largely used on these days as masks, candy, and dolls. At midnight on October 31st, the gates of heaven are opened. On November 1st, the passed children return for 24 hours and are celebrated with toys and candies on their altares. These altares, or ofrendas, are made to honor the dead and are decorated with items and foods

Analysis of Opening Sequence of Spielberg s Saving Private Ryan

Saving Private Ryan , directed by internationally acclaimed director Steven Spielberg, was the winner of five academy awards in 1998 which included best director, cinematography and film editing. The opening sequence begins with World War 1 s historic D Day invasion of Omahabeach in June 6th 1944. In this essay I will analyse how Spielberg uses various techniques to evoke sympathy and shock the viewer, captures the reality of combat without ever glorifying war itself.

Spielberg used variety of camera shots including close up, medium shot, long shot, wide angle shot and high angle shot. He used the hand held camera which gives a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This long shot allows the viewer see a lot more sceneries and see a lot of action.

Spielberg also uses an underwater camera which gives a great effect and it makes the scene more realistic, we hear the sound of bullets fizzing through the water and hitting soldiers and witness their blood getting mixed with the sea. The horror of war is inescapable, even under the sea

He also uses variety angle shots like Wide Angle shots, High Angle shots and Low Angle shots. Wide Angle shot is what is known as panoramic view and that gives a lot of action to us. Wide angle shot gives us simple a wide view, so that we can see lot more scenes and soldiers than in a normal medium frame.

Saving Private Ryanhas many poignant scenes in the first twenty minutes of the film. The first poignant scene is when soldiers jumped into the water from landing craft and already 10 15 soldiers are killed in 3 4 seconds. This is how easily can soldiers can get killed in war and they probably know that 5 or 10 soldiers are going to get killed at this stage but they still fight.

More than 2,000 U.S service men died in the D Day landing. Spielberg also shows us how men can be cruel in war. For example a German soldier is depicted in fire and an American G.I says Don t shoot him! Let him burn! This seems very

I will disclose that I have a certain bias toward this stock as I have been investing in it since early 2012. REGN has been on a meteoric rise since 2011 and while some analysts may say that the price is too high, I will show that it is not the case and there is still room to make a profit from REGN. Jekyll And Mr Hyde Duality

First Essay Assignment: Stevenson s Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is mystery story which is written by Robert Louis Stevenson. This story was written in 1885 and published in 5 January, 1886. This story is accepted as the best novel of the Stevenson in Victorian Age. Victorian Age was the brightest age of the England which was the period of the reign of Queen Victoria. It started in 1837 and ended in 1901. At that time, poverty in England was decreased and technologies were developed so much. However, in Victorian England, there were no equality in the society and every person was belonging to a different class. This inequality could not cast a cloud on this victorious age but the Victorian Age, which was filled with a lot of contradictions and conflicts, had been a great inspiration to many authors and poets in this era. In this story, Stevenson also expressed the difference of social class. Also, through the novel, Stevenson established a link between the urban landscape of Victorian London and the dark events surrounding Hyde. He achieved his desired effect by using ... Another common interpretation which we can see the novella s duality is the representative of Scotland and the Scottish character. In this story, the duality also represented the national and linguistic dualities inherent in Scotland s relationship with the Britain and the English language, respectively, and the repressive effects of the Church of Scotland on the Scottish character. A further parallel was also drawn with the city of Edinburgh itself, which is Stevenson s birthplace. This consisted of two distinct parts. One of the part was the old medieval period that was historically inhabited by the poverty of city, where the dark and crowded slums were spread with many types of crimes. Then, the other part was the modern Georgian area of wide spacious streets which represented

Accounts on Individuals Acquiring Their Identities

The concept of identity has been defined as A sense of self that develops as the child differentiates from parents and family and takes a place in society (Jary and Jary, 1991.) Through the process of socialization, individuals acquire their identities, but this issue cause different understandings according to sociological accounts. Here, I will show these accounts, and make an analysis understood by me.

The definition refers to the sense that some one has or who they are, of what is most important about them. Important sources of identities are likely to include nationality, ethnicity, sexuality (homosexual, heterosexual, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Symbolic Interactionism

Symbolic Interactionism sees the actor as more active in acquiring an identity. It claim to society has a range of diverse social roles and identities (e.g. the roles of students and teachers). Every role has certain behaviours, and certain rules. However, these roles can change. Symbolic Interactionism sees identities as more flexible.

The issue is interactionists underestimate the range of human behaviours which are restricted. The fact is not so ideal as what they image. Things can be changed, but not all the things can, or not all the people can change certain things. What s more, they ignore the identity of structural reasons (e.g. the unequal right between male and female) in shaping the society.

Marxism

Marxism points most societies are based on exploitation of some groups by others. Those who own the mean of production (ruling class) exploit those who work for them, who lack the means to produce things themselves (subject class). (Haralambos and Holborn, Sociology Themes and Perspectives AS and A Level Student Handbook , chapter 1, p2)

Marxists do not agree with functionalism and interactionism for underestimating the importance of power to impose roles. They emphasizes the class differences in people acquiring their identities, but ignore other important source of identity such as, gender, sexuality, age, etc.

Moreover, Marxism

Symbols In Lord Of The Flies Research Paper

Symbolism is a powerful tool that writers riders utilize to help enrich their stories. It is defined as an artistic and poetic movement or style using symbolic images and indirect suggestion to express mystical ideas, emotions, and states of mind. Sir William Golding, author of The Lord of the Flies, (a classic novel that describes the descent of common English school boys into savagery) harnesses the power of symbolism using not only inanimate objects and places, but also characters. Golding expresses many hidden ideas that add depth to his novel, particularly in his description of the tropical island, the Lord of the Flies, and the characters of Samneric. The tropical island the boys crash land on symbolizes paradise with its seemingly... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Sam and Eric are two littluns (boys under 10) who are identical twins and do everything together. Since Sam and Eric are inseparable, the rest of the children called them both by one name, Samneric. Samneric represents civilized people: the people who pay attention to the rules and obey whoever is in charge. They are followers, sheep. The twins feared the beast less than the others perhaps because they are not as alone as everyone else is since they have each other. Perhaps the two found safety in that familial feeling. Furthermore, they are easily swayed by a voice of power. For example, when Jack tells them to stop attending to the fire they listen to him and cease what they were doing. They themselves don t change, only who they are following. After Simons death, in which they had a hand in, Samneric became even more afraid of Jack because they had remained loyal to Ralph and Jack was more powerful. In order to avoid an assault from Jack s tribe, the twins painted their faces like the tribesmen, in hopes that would save them from Jack. Even when the two boys became a part of Jack s tribe, they did not completely give up on civilization, for when Ralph was being hunted they tried to keep the secret of Ralph s whereabouts as long as they could. However, when Samneric were threatened they gave up Ralph s position fairly
