But Emmet and Lucy don’t have a similar connection to each other as the boy and his sister, who is supposed to be represented by the Sis-star characters, who Emmet doesn’t spend any real time with until the end of the movie because Lucy’s among them. As I alluded to already, The LEGO Movie is ostensibly a comedy, and a very funny one at that. The film is basically a spoof of every Hollywood vision-quest movie you've ever seen. Ferrell plays this with such relish and enthusiasm that it is a joy to watch. And this cute little astronaut is voiced by Charlie Day in the upcoming 3D computer animated The Lego Movie. In addition, there were many well-known comic-book, cartoon character appearances in the film: Notable ones are DC comic superheroes (Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, Flash), Lord Of The Rings Gandalf, Harry Potter's Professor Dumbledore, Star Wars' Han Solo and C3PO, Ninja Turtles' Michelangelo, Lincoln, Shakespeare and many more. Besides, with so many animation powerhouses settling for easy-money sequels lately (we mean you, Pixar, DreamWorks, Universal and 20 th Century Fox), it is exceedingly cool that a majorstudio family film refuses to simply capitalize on merchandising spinoffs by offering an oppressive 100-minute commercial. After Vitruvius and Benny, here comes a brand new character poster for The Lego Movie, which focuses on Lord Business. What I worried would be a feature length commercial is instead a very funny, and somewhat subversive film, overflowing with ideas, puns, perfect music, and wacky 'cameos' by everyone from Shaquile O'Neil, to a wonderfully warped and dark Batman (given terrific voice by Will Arnet). 'Lego' doesn't look quite like any film I've seen before. The general audience isn’t going to get all of those references, so I appreciate their inclusion all the more. Our favourite orange-clad plastic construction worker was the glue to which the kraggle joined our love to the first LEGO movie. I still would have preferred the stopmotion technique personally, but still this was well done animation overall. Although the track reverts to a standard 7.1 mix for those without an Atmos setup, this track offers a sonically superior experience while watching the film. There is a message here but it is never preached or shouted at you. Laughs were scattered, but I could also feel how the plot wasn’t quite landing in the way it was supposed to. They are joined by Tiffany Haddish, Stephanie Beatriz, and Arturo Castro as, respectively, new characters Queen Watevra Wa’Nabi, Sweet Mayhem and Ice Cream Cone, and by Maya Rudolph. If that wasn’t enough, the shadow details on the disc are in full effect adding more depth and definition than seen on the Blu-ray disc. He wants to be your normal average predictable person. You’d be forgiven for thinking most of the movie was an incredibly elaborate stop motion picture created with actual LEGO bricks rather than computer generated imagery. Everything in this film is incredibly detailed from the water being made of Lego’s to the amazing site of all the cityscapes made of the same titular Dutch bricks.
