Summary Of The Freeze, Burke, And Vorster (2014) Study

The Freeze, Burke, Vorster, (2014) study presupposed that conduct disorder is categorized by a monotonous, long lasting and stubborn array of numerous problem performances in which the human rights of other individuals or age applicable social standards or guidelines are disrupted. These problematic actions can be separated into four key groups: violence to individuals and animals, obliteration of possessions and things, untrustworthiness or stealing and severe defilements of guidelines (Freeze, Burke, Vorster, 2014). The Freeze, Burke, Vorster, (2014) project claimed the harshness of conduct disorder conditions can be categorized as minor, modest or austere. The Holmes, Slaughter, Kashani, (2001) study proposes that Peer rebuff at age ten; consequently, a mixture of educational failing and unfortunate parent supervising could lead to friendship with a disruptive peer cluster at age twelve. Connection to an abnormal peer cluster is linked with a surge in drug abuse and additional abnormal performance; furthermore, the effect of abnormal peer groups may be more apparent in a later start of conduct disorder (Holmes, Slaughter, Kashani, 2001). Family influences are connected to the growth of conduct disorder, unpredictable management intermingled with punitive retribution, huge household proportions, and parent rebuff, unpredictable parents, and a boozing dad are all risk factors for conduct disorder (Holmes, Slaughter, Kashani,

Southwest Airlines Hub Capacity And Congestion Management

Southwest Airlines Hub Capacity and Congestion Management

ASCI602 The Air Transportation System

06 June 2015

Abstract

Southwest Airlines shot out of the gates, much to the chagrin of their competitors as a short haul, low fare, and high frequency carrier. As SWA expanded and deregulation occurred, they had to decide what kind of airline they wanted to be and how they would adapt to the changing environment. The FAA reports that passenger numbers are expected to reach a billion passengers in 2023 (FAA, 2011). Most Airlines are responding to the increased demand by centralizing and consolidating their assets. This in turn creates a situation where capacity is maximized in some airports and congestion increases causing significant delay. Demand will continue to rise over the next few decades and these airlines must rely on regulators and policy makers to upgrade the very necessary infrastructure and technology. Southwest s strategy is to remain a point to point carrier instead of the traditional hub and spoke carrier, satisfying their customer demand with lower congestion at underutilized airports with more flights. However Southwest continues to remain flexible looking forward as it adopts hub and spoke techniques, coordinates with the FAA and governing bodies, and invests heavily in its most important airports to stay ahead of the pack.

In the early seventies, SWA was begun by a couple of innovators in Teas, Rollin King and

Defining Domestic Service And Workers

The term domestic service is difficult to define, as the duties of the domestic workers are not so well defined. In common discourse, the term is defined as a person who is employed.

Managed Health Care Issues Essay

When one examines managed health care and the hospitals that provide the care, a degree of variation is found in the treatment and care of their patients. This variation can be between hospitals or even between physicians within a health care network. For managed care companies the variation may be beneficial. This may provide them with opportunities to save money when it comes to paying for their policy holder s care, however this large variation may also be detrimental to the insurance company. This would fall into the category of management of utilization, if hospitals and managed careorganizations can control treatment utilization, they can control premium costs for both themselves and their customers (Rodwin 1996). If health... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The second category is preference (Kongstvedt, 2007). When the term preference is used, what it means in this sense is that there is more than one way to cure the patient. This means that the patient has a choice to make between the specific treatments. The patient s preference to certain treatments defines how utilization management works. Patients in the same region may prefer a single treatment to another or patients of a specific age demographic may opt out of surgery when a younger crowd may see it as the only option (Kongstvedt, 2007). The third and final category of unwarranted care is supply. The term does not refer to supplies as in the usage of equipment or tools needed to perform a job. The word supply is referring to the treatment that is most available is the most often used in regards to a patient s care. For instance, in a state that the majority of the population is elderly patients, who use Medicare, will have higher per capita spending for Medicare patient s than the states that do not have a high population of elderly residence using Medicare services (Rodwin 1996). With these categories in place, managed health care organizations can group health care into these categories and establish parameters for reducing cost and create cost effective utilization of health care resource to all of their customers. Utilization management was set in place to contain costs, but one might also assume that by

Apollo 13 Stoichiometry

In the lab sodium hydrogen carbonate will react with hydrochloric acid. Then with the data gained from the lab, the use of stoichiometry is used to calculate the mass of the product, and compare the theoretical data to the actual data to calculate the percent error. When reacting the two compounds, it is placed over a heat source. The stoichiometry in the equation is to calculate the theoretical mass, or calculated mass, that is reacted from the compounds. The actual amount was the mass of the product received in the lab. An example how stoichiometry was used was during the Apollo 13. The Apollo 13 had two air tanks that had blown up causing the trip to the moon to be terminated, and the new focus to be surviving the trip back to earth. For... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Then with a pipet, place slowly with hydrochloric acid, 10 ml, into the sodium hydrogen carbonate until the bubbles stop. Then with the product, heat until it seems as if all the water in the dish is evaporated. Originally the product was supposed to be 2.09g of hydrochloric acid, however there was a miscalculation of the mass of the sodium hydrogen carbonate, and that mass turned out to be 3.07g. The final mass for the product was supposed to be 2.14g as a mass of the product. After all the procedures were completed, the mass that was received from the lab calculations was 2.45g. This was a 114.55 percent error to the lab. The large error could have lead to many different things. One of the things that the error could have been caused was miss calculating the mass. While measuring the sodium hydrogen carbonate, the mass of the evaporating dish mass, 46.50g, had altered when it was zeroed and put the 3.00g of the sodium hydrogen carbonate. Then it was massed again together and it was 49.57g. Another possible way that the mass was altered the way it was, it that all the water wasn t evaporated. There was also a little splatter outside the dish. That helped lessening the mass that was already too big. Finally an important error that happened was not letting the evaporating dish cool after it was heated. Those are some ways that the lab error could

Mycenaean s To The Dark Ages

The period we call Ancient Greece dates from 3000BC 1 BC. Ancient Greece is divided into six different periods. The Bronze Age 3000BC 2200 BC, Mycenaean Period 2200BC 1100BC, The Dark Ages 1100BC 800BC, The Archaic Period 800BC 500BC, The Classical Age 500BC 336BC, and the Hellenistic Period 336BC 30BC. Some historians refer to to the time period from 3000BC 1100BC as the Helladic Period. My research is about the Dark Ages, so we will focus on the fall of the Mycenaean s to the Dark Ages to the beginnings of the Archaic Period. The Dark Ages is considered an interesting time period, because we have no artifacts or knowledge about it. The Fall of the Mycenaean s

The Mycenaean s were an alluring and powerful civilization that ruled most of Southern and Central Greece during the Mycenaean period. The Mycenaean civilization developed around 1600 BCE from what seems like nothing. The Mycenaean civilization sprouted to great heights and became one of the most supreme civilizations for hundreds of years. The Minoans have been recognized with the fast growth of the Mycenaean s. Trade between the two civilizations allowed them to flourish. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Mycenaean s embraced the Minoan writing system Linear B, their city state model, as well as their architecture. The similarities between the civilizations are so prominent, that previous historians had thought it was just one civilization that had conquered another and made it its own. The Mycenaean civilization reached its peak around 1300 BCE and was most likely the dominant empire for the Aegean

Negative Separation Of 50 Ml Plastic Tubes

To prepare experiment 1, labels were put on four separate 50 mL plastic tubes. They were each labeled, Negative control A , Positive control B , Positive control , and Experimental . Fermentation tubes were also labeled in the same way as the vials. Next, glucose in the amount of either 2% or 6% and water was extracted from beakers using a pipette pump. The water and glucose were then mixed in the plastic tubes before adding the yeast from a separate beaker, also extracted by a pipette pump. It was important to make sure that the yeast is added last, as the reaction will happen as soon as yeast and sugar come into contact. After the solutions were mixed together, they were put into their previously labeled fermentation tubes. After the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After all of the plastic tubes were mixed, they were poured into the fermentation tubes. The tubes were then left to sit for 30 minutes before the air bubbles were measured using a ruler.

A Research On An Undergraduate Psychology Student

In the scientific world most arguments are supported by data. In regards to personality, at first glance, it may seem impossible to collect quantitative data. However, as the text book points there are LOTS of ways to collect personality data. LOTS is an acronym for L data, life record data, O data, observer data, T data, test data, and S data, self report data (Cervone Pervin, 2013). So in fact there are scientific ways to collect data on personality. As an undergraduate psychologystudent pursuing a degree in psychology, it is important for me to not only understand the different methods when doing research in the field of psychology, as well as recognizing which method works best for the research being conducted. Being able to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The major problem with observational data is collecting data without the individual or individuals of interest noticing the observer. If spotted, the individuals of interest may behave differently than in a true naturalistic setting. T data relies on experiments to collect data. The advantage of using this method of data collection is that the experimenters have control over the variables being measured, they can chose which expressed personality characteristics they want to measure and select the participants they want. Another advantage of using T data is that unlike correlational data, T data can support causality between two or more variables. While experimental data may be the most supportive, it is also more challenging to conduct. Experiments require more resources such as money and personnel, which can limit smaller institutions and psychologists with limited resources from using T data. In addition to the cost and personnel to run the experiment, it also takes more time to conduct because the researchers must find enough participants to make the sample size relevant enough to generalize the results back to the population.

S data is one of the more popular methods for collecting data because of its convenience and cost. The cost of producing and administering self report material is significantly less than T data for instance. Additionally, it is more convenient to administer due to the ease of being able to

Mysql Case Study

MySQL 1. What was the business model of MySQL?

Orignal Business model Originally, MySQL collected one time licensing revenues from original equipment manufacturers (OEM) businesses. These were businesses that redistributed MySQL embedded into their own products as in a standalone application. This was based on the dual license model for open source database. In the dual license model, software is available both under a General public license (GPL) , usually for non commercial end users, and under a commercial license for non GPL ed redistribution.

Example: As an example, MySQLfirm makes MySQL available under the GPL at no charge, but sells it under other more traditional licenses to clients who do not find the GPL to be... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Microsoft had already offered a zero price product for a long time, Sysbase, since 2004. Oracle had acquired the two main transactional engines that MySQL could have used, namely Innobase and its replacement Sleepycat. In a way it gave Oracle some control as a partner with MySQL.

Increasing competition: New open source database startups such as db4o leveraged open source community for development, marketing and sales and hence enjoyed an extremely low cost structure. This enabled them to expand their customer base in enterprise domain. Some closed source databases became open source. Eg: Cloudscape from IBM. This further increased the competition. 3. What is the current status of MySQL?

MySQL status in 2006: Though it had 8 million active installations and 50,000 downloads per day, only 1 in 1000 productive installations ended up as paid MySQL customer. In April 2006, Oracle renewed the contract between InnoBase and MySQL in a multi year agreement, effectively becoming a MySQL partner. Mickos sees growth opportunities and plans to raise sales upto $ 100 million and to go public by 2008. Oracle clearly recognizes MySQL as its competitor though battle lines are a bit blurry in MySQL camp. CEO Mickos looks at Oracle as too big to be considered as a competitor while EVP of Sales, Burton, sees them as competitor only in select markets like Large Enterprise category.

Crystal Methamphetamine Case Summary

This case involves the suspect being arrested for H S 11377(a) Crystal Methamphetamine and an outstanding arrest warrant.

LOCATION DESCRIPTION: This incident occurred on the south sidewalk of Bellevue Drive at Edmondson Alley.

EVIDENCE:

Plastic bindle container with a white crystal substance inside, resembling Crystal methamphetamine. The crystal methamphetamine was found inside of Arvizu s black backpack. The total weight of the crystal methamphetamine was 0.19 gross grams.

INVESTIGATION:

On 02 23 18 at approximately 1700 hours, I was traveling north on Raymond Avenue approaching Bellevue Drive. I saw a male Hispanic, later identified as Suspect Ramon Richard Arvizu riding a bicycle west on Bellevue Drive at Edmondson Alley. I immediately recognized Arvizu from prior policecontacts in the field. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I conducted a records check on Arvizu through PPD Dispatch. Dispatch advised me that Arvizu had an outstanding warrant for his arrest (see attached printout). I handcuffed and arrested Arvizu for the outstanding arrest warrant. The handcuffs were double locked. Arvizu requested that I released his property in the field to Payne. I filled out a Field Identification Card on Payne (FI# 180402). I then transported Arvizu to the Pasadena Jail for booking.

Upon our arrival to the jail, I asked Arvizu if he had any narcotics in his possession. Arvizu replied that he did not have any narcotics in his possession. While inside of the jail, Pasadena Jailer Jung #4767 searched Arvizu. Jailer Jung had Arvizu remove his shoes and socks for the search. Jailer Jung advised me that he found a plastic bindle inside of Arvizu s right sock.

Jailer Jung handed me the plastic bindle. I opened the plastic bindle and found a crystal substance inside of it. Arvizu told me that he forgot about the plastic bindle inside of his
