The History Of The Transitional Federal Government In Somalia

The UICs also declared themselves the only administration that Somalia by form a rival administration to the Transitional Federal Government (TFG) of Somalia

1.Success stories of Islamic Unions

A.Security

One of the most memorable achievement of Islamic Court Union is the Mogadishu Security. The was almost five months with security and stability felt by the Mogadishu residents. No militia brandishing AK 47 in Mogadishu, other than Islamic Courts Union s militia. In those five months, you could you could go out to Money Transfer Companies, picked up your money sent to you by your families in abroad, and come back with your money without fear of robbers, while you could also use your cellphone. A lot of families, who fled the country,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... D.Destroying warlords of Mogadishu

The Mogadishu warlords were an emblem of violence, manipulation, harassment and ending of their era was welcomed throughout Somalia, especially in Mogadishu residents.

E.Becoming a political contender

The UICs finally became undeniable political player through dialogue. The TFG president Abdullah Yusuf Ahmed was ready to offer sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed for the prime minster position until sheikh Hassan Turki (UICs Ras Kambini wing) invaded kismayo, which was seen as violation of peace and reconciliation process, which could ve make Sheikh Sharif the Somali Prime Minster.

2.Internal and external causes of Islamic Union Courts Failure 2.1 Internal failure

A.Lack of recognition of Somali flag

The flag is the most visible identity that a country can have. The description of Somali flag is a light blue with a large white five pointed star in the center. However, the Islamic Courts Union came up with a dark field flag with the motto of There is no God but Allah; Muhammadis the messenger of God in the middle. The motto might be a statement that every Somali citizen would associate, but that doesn t mean that Somali people were happy see their blue light flag changed, rather than that, it angered a lot of Somali people, who see the move as uncalculated risk. The following two pictures indicate, first flag (pic.1), the national flag of Somali Federal Government, and second flag (pic.2), the newly adopted flag

Understanding How Wagner Fits Into Our History Of Western...

Organising a concrete form for a style such as Wagner s is difficult given that the music lies on the edge of what was common practice in the 19th century. The music does not easily organise itself into the neat forms that we recognise from the classical and baroque time periods, but instead goes beyond the confines of form and tonalitythat today s listeners are not familiar with. This gives the music some unique qualities such as being unpredictable, unending, and for some, brings less attention to the music and more attention to the drama that is being presented. Given this ambiguity, there will certainly be different analyses and interpretations that will result in different organisations and conclusions. Despite this however, I will attempt make a few overarching statements about the excerpt s form, tonal organization, sequential processes, motivic use, and drama as a whole on this multifaceted analysis of this excerpt in the hope to better understand how Wagner fits into our history of western classical music. The excerpt may be best understood in two sections, however I would like to present the music as instead having three sections. I have this labeled on my form chart as sections A B and C. The organization we discussed in class presented the music as having a binary form with the important section divider happening in 187/1/5 on the half cadence, and new music continueing on the the next measure (187/2/1). This beginning area leading to the first defined dominant

Acromegaly Autism

Gigantism is a condition characterized by excessive growth and height, particularly targeting the person s appendages. Gigantism is also known as acromegaly if the condition persists into adulthood. The prefix acro means extremity while the suffix megaly means enlargement. Normal amounts of growth hormone are secreted by the pituitary gland using the negative feedback system. Dealing with endocrinology, gigantism is primarily caused by a tumor growth on the pituitary gland (Wisse, 2015). This creates a surplus of the human growth hormonetypically secreted during puberty. If left untreated, the persons affected can expect a lowered life span. Despite the abnormal height and elongated appendages, the person s affected can expect to be self sufficient.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Surgery offers the best chance of a cure. A neuro endocrinologist is needed to properly diagnose the condition while a neurosurgeon is needed to perform the surgery. Since the pituitary gland sits inferior to the hypothalamus of the brain, precision in microsurgery is highly necessary. Unfortunately, pituitary adenomas that invade the sella turcica of the brain lower the chances of a successful surgery. Undergoing surgery is always a risk, but this treatment provides the best chances for survival. Medications are also offered as a course of treatment, although proven with a lower success rate. Physicians prescribe monthly injections of somatostatin to help suppress the overproduction of the growth hormone. Although this poses less of a risk than surgery, a reported 70% of patients had an actual decrease in GH hormone. A consequence of using this method is a heavy reliance on drugs for an unforeseeable amount of time. Drugs are often costly so this can pose a problem as well. Radiation therapy is used when all other options have failed. A dose of radiation is targeted on the tumor and the surrounding brain structures are typically left unaffected. 18 months are needed to see a substantial reduction in growth hormone output. Consequences of radiation treatment are delayed pituitary failure, learning disabilities, obesity, and emotional changes (Kleinberg,

Comparison between Woman Work and Overheard in County Sligo Woman Work and overheard in County Sligo are both poems which give us an image of the role of woman in the past, and how she contributed to society Through reading both these poems, it is apparent that both of the poets backgrounds have influenced the poems. In the past, women were not considered important in society, and their efforts were not valued, not even by woman herself. Women were expected to stay at home, and become housewives. Woman lived in a society in which there was pressure to get married, wither by family pressure or societal pressure. It was not necessary for woman to conform to the beliefs and wishes of society, but many women felt compelled to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Woman Work starts with a long list of chores that she needs to do. This highlights her massive workload that she has to deal with. This verse is the largest to emphasise all the jobs that she must do. In Woman Work, I feel the atmosphere is very sad. She is very tired, and needs to rest, which shows she is unhappy. In the first verse, she repeatedly uses the word I . This emphasises that no one helps her with her chores, and she is responsible for everything. The woman in Woman work is not well off. We know this as she says Star shine, Moon glow, you re all that I can call my own. This implies that she does not own materialistic possessions. It could also imply that she does not even own her own time, as it is always taken up by doing the household chores. The structure of the first verse uses no punctuation. This speeds the first verse up, to reflect her life, and all she has to do. The use of concrete nouns in the first verse also suggests all she has to do. The woman in Woman Work could be angry with her situation. She says Storm, blow me from here This could reflect her anger and aggression at her situation, as storms are ferocious. We know that she wants to get away. She says Blow me from here This implies she wants to get away, and is unhappy. It can also imply that she feels trapped, and feels oppressed, as she can not leave. The last four verses of

Terrorism And Discrimination Against Terrorism

The history of terrorism is as old as humans willingness to use violence to affect politics. Terrorism can affect everyone, whether directly or indirectly. However, a group that is largely affected is immigrants, mainly due to the U.S. policies on Counter Terrorism. These policies might protect our country, but they also indirectly lead to discrimination against immigrants. The U.S. policy on Counter Terrorismcauses unfair immigration laws, encourages social media to demonize foreigners, and creates an unfair society for immigrants to live in. Immigrants suffer at the hand of our nation s unfair immigration laws. Terrorism causes immigration laws to become even more strict in order to prevent terrorists from entering our country. However, according to ABC More federal funds are available for immigration enforcement and deportations, even though those efforts seem to do almost nothing to prevent terrorism. (Hesson). The efforts to tighten immigration laws do almost nothing to prevent terrorism because the majority of immigrants aren t terrorists, they are just people wanting to improve their lives by coming to the U.S. By treating all immigrants as potential terrorists we are discriminating against them and creating a bias standard. Americans need to remember that not all immigrants are terrorists and by holding them to this standard we are creating a social injustice. One way that Americans are influenced to view immigrants as terrorists is through social media.

Theme Of Satire In Lazarillo De Tormes

Lazarillo de Tormes is a famous work of Spanish literature published anonymously. The novel is written in the first person. Lazarillo de Tormes is known as a picaresque novel in that the novel is written about a character of the lower class instead of a hero or upper class character. The novel has several themes, but the theme that is constant throughout the novel is appearance versus reality. The author utilizes several rhetorical devices in the novel which add emphasis to the story. The novel, which was banned by the Spanish Crown during the time of the Spanish inquisition, is the story of the birth and life Lazarillo de Tormesas he serves various masters and his struggle for survival. His struggles are real. Many of the rhetorical devices serve to add humor to the novel as well. The author uses satire to support the theme of appearance versus reality. The definition of satire is an attempt to ridicule, mock, or criticize something or someone with humorous content. Satire is a rhetorical device that is used throughout the novel. The author uses humor in the wake of misfortune. This is evident in the chapter where Lazarillo serves his first master, a blind man. He treated Lazarillo horribly and also starved him. Lazarillo learns many deceitful things from his master which will serve him well throughout his life. Lazarillo s goal was to get away from the blind man. An example of satire is the quote, What! You smelled the sausage and you couldn t smell the post? Ole ? Ole ? I jeered (Albert, Michael 17). Lazarillo was making fun of the blind man for being able to smell the difference in the sausage and rotten turnips, but he did not smell the post that Lazarillo purposefully guided him into. Lazarillo was set on getting away from his first master and this is the clever way that Lazarillo gets away. He leaves without knowing the condition of his first master. In the end, Lazarillo did manage to outwit the blind man. The author s portrayal of the clergy can be considered satire as well. The clergy is portrayed very negatively in the novel. The clergy is not noble, honest or Christ like which is what people normally equate with a man that holds such a position. According to T. Anthony Perry, there is a high

Did you know over a million dollars go to waste from buying a ton of batteries that barely work. For my science fair project I am going to test the 4 most popular brands of batteries in America, Duracell, Energizer, Rayovac, and a Alkaline battery named Enercell. The problem is that big battery brands run out quick and you feel like a fool, because you fell for their false advertising. So to accomplish this I am going to test different brand of batteries by using a battery conductor. The battery... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The estimated price amount for this expeirment should be no more then 15 dollars. Above are the trials I had on the cell before I did the final and last trial. It seems that the Duracell lasted the longest during the second trial, and the first trial they came to a close tie. So for the final and last trial I would have to see how long the batteries last by doing the expeirment percisely as I can. The first battery I tested is the Energizer battery which lasted 6 hours, and 35 minuets. The second battery I tested is the Duracell battery which lasted 22 hours and 15 minuets. The third battery I tested is the Enercell battery which lasted 15 hours, and 2 minuets. The last battery I tested was the Rayovac battery which lasted for 24 hours, and 30 minuets. The battery brand which lasted the longest out of the four of them was the Rayovac battery. My expeirment came to end, because all the batteries burned out. After all the batteries were done with testing I organizied them into a graph showing how long each of the batteries lasted. The outcome was that the Rayovac battery lasted the longest. I rejected my hypothesis because my hypothesis staed the Rayovac battery, and the Duracell battery will end in a tie. Which was wrong, because the Rayovac battery lasted longer then the Duracell cell battery. However I overlooked the fact that the Rayovac battery wasn t made out of just Lithium it was made out of Lithium Ion. Which is

What Is My Ideal Country Essay

When I picture the ideal society, it is everything that my homeland, Sweden, is not. Everything that I hate about Sweden, everything that makes me dislike this country, does not exist there at all. In the land of my dreams, the weather is warm and the sun is shining at all times. On the days where the sun shines too bright, you can go for a swim in the turquoise ocean to cool off. That is mainly what I would like to do after long days of work, just go to the ocean, lie on the beach with white, fine sand and coconut trees surrounding the premises. There are also many activities that keeps the visitors entertained, which easily happens when you go to the beach everyday. There are bouncy castles in the ocean near the beach, you can go surfing, snorkelling to check out the magnificent sea life and you can also rent a luxurious boat for as long as you wantfor a vacation on the sea. That really makes it easy to keep life constantly interesting. One activity that probably is my favorite one, is to discover all... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The shopping areas in the country can be compared to places like New York and London. There is also no language barrier for english speakers here since the mother tongue here is english.

I would like to see my utopia as a combination of Switzerland regarding economy and infrastructure, Australia or Thailand with its tropical and beautiful nature and friendly people, and New Yoek with its shopping and city life. These are some of the countries in the world that I love the most and combined, they are absolutely perfect. In other words, the country I just described, is a country I would love to spend the rest of my life

International Security And International Law Essay

International security studies offer several concepts to facilitate comprehension of the complex international order. Transnational identities, balance of power and international institutions and law are the most applicable concepts to describe the international security system. They best reflect the thinking of political leaders even in contrary forms of governments in different parts of the world, in sum, they consider the most dominant paradigms in the study of world politics and they supplement each other in executing a variegated set of policies. This essay will discuss those concepts following their related main actors from individuals via states to international organizations. Each paragraph gives a short characterization of the respective concept, links it with the most appropriate paradigm and shows the application of the concept in both democratic and more autocratic states while referencing the other concepts.

The concept of transnational identities is mainly associated with the paradigm of constructivism and describes both the essential politics of the democratic United States of America (USA) in internal and foreign affairs and the behavior of the more autocratic governed state of Iran in the Middle East. The term transnational identity stands for identities or ideologies based on culture. In addition, the beliefs and values do not necessarily align with national borders. On the one hand, the identities depend on the interests and preferences in the

Gun Ownership In Early America Summary

In the article Gun Ownership in Early America: A Survey of Manuscript Militia Returns by Robert Churchill, he discusses how gun ownership in the early 18th and 19th centuries was scarce and at times the armed militias were the only people who had guns at all. It was because of this that the government made gun ownership exceptional. This is different from today when gun ownership is everywhere. Due to the high concentration of guns sometimes it is hard to count how many are sold in the United Statesevery year. To learn that guns, at one time, were almost non existent is almost hard to believe. In the article, the author talks about Michael Bellesiles a historian who first wrote on gun ownership in America in 1996. Bellesiles was the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Unlike the 18th and 19th centuries, the government today is much against gun ownership. So much so that they have enacted gun control laws that would take all guns away from American citizens. Though guns can be dangerous in the wrong hands, Americans have the right to bear arms. To take gun ownership away would mean destroying the Constitutional right of every American. Instead of gun control everyone that buys a gun they should undergo an intense back ground check and be required to attend gun ownership classes to learn how to safely use the weapon. In the article it is stated that most guns in the 18th and 19th centuries were owned by younger men and boys. This would suggest that younger men in those centuries were more mature than those of today. Back then people had to fend for themselves because money was not as prevalent as it is today, so owning a gun was more of a necessity. Now when younger people possess a fire arm the outcome is more violent. The damage inflicted by young people with guns in the last decade has been some of the worst America has ever witnessed. The Sandy Hook shooting being the most recent string of school related gun violence. In the 18th and 19th centuries, this type of behavior was never recorded, but the population was sparser and children then did not have violent videogames, TV

The Most Dangerous Game Compare And Contrast

We all discover stories and explore it, but while comparing and contrasting two stories, the film, High Noon and short story, The Most Dangerous Game which obviously present many differences, but there are also some similarities located throughout both of them. No story is ever a story without main characters, and Will Kane from the film along with Sanger Rainsford from the short storyhave similar personalities as well as differences affecting their own story. Nothing is ever complete without a setting, and Hadley Ville, a western town from the film, along with Ship Trap Island, an isolated island from the short story both represent a lot of differences at first but, deeper within, you can analyze the similarities of how the settings... For High Noon s citation, it is highly implied that Frank Mitchell is returning on the noon train to kill Kane since he arrested Frank, while in The Most Dangerous Game the quote There is no greater bore than perfection defines that Zaroff hunts humans for satisfaction. Even though the two antagonists have two different reasons to kill, the most similiar conflict are the antagonists who are going to kill the protagonists minus the reason why, but Mitchell wants to kill Kane for revenge, and Zaroff wants to kill Rainsford for satisfaction of playing his game. For both the film High Noon and The Most Dangerous Game , they both share obvious differences at first, but a few similarities after
