Slip Dance Analysis

I decided to choose a dance that we have watched in class. The video is called Slipped. Slip is a music video about two young people slowly slipping away from each other. As well as how to deal with pain as well as letting go of it. The choreography is not abstract as in moving for the sake of movement. With the Four areas of movement analysis, the major on within this dance is the effort, the girl in the video seems to be bound and free at a different time through of the routine. The body within this piece was focused on the relationship of the two, you could see that the two people were comfortable with each other but were not happy. The space of this was done at a subway station and was meant for video recording because of the rotation of

Optimal Capital Structure and Stock Price

To put it simple way, first we have to understand optimal capital structure is maximizes a firm s stock price, and the target capital structure is mix of the debt, preferred stock, and common equity the firm wants to have (Eugene and Joel 2009). The capital structure is also showing how a firm use different sources of funds to finances its overall operations and growth the stock price. Capital structure shows that how a firm s assets have been established debt and equity, it is very important in a firm, because it is related to the capacity of the company to suit the needs of its stakeholders. The capital structure impacts on the performance of the firm, because it can influence the top management of the company decision making (Hitt, Hoskisson and Harrison, 1991).For example, a company has 20million in equity and 80 million in debt. It can be defined as 20% equity financed and 80% debt financed. The ratio of debt to total financing companies, 80% in this example, is called the leverage of the company. In reality, the capital structure may be very complex, including dozens of sources. Gearing ratio is the capital from outside the business by the company adopted, such as taking a short term loan (Capital Structure Overview and Theory 2014).

However, in 1958, Professors Franco Modigliani and Merton Miller was published the most influential finance article. Here after the Modigliani Miller theorem this was published by Franco Modigliani and Merton Miller, under a limiting set

Analysis Of Uglies By Scott Westerfeld

In the book Uglies by Scott Westerfeld, in it the first book in the series written by Scott. Other books in this series include, Pretties, Specials, and Extras. This book mainly takes place in Uglyville, where all the uglies live before they turn sixteen and become pretty. Tally, the main character, who is perseverant and indecisive, meets two other relevant characters in the story as well that are named Shay and David. The inciting incident that starts the conflict is when Shay runs away, in hopes of Tally finding her and not getting the operation done. The overriding conflict, however, is whether Tally will choose to become pretty and lose her best friend or not become pretty and stay with the people that care about her the most. Scott Westerfeld

Alexander s Great Accomplishments

Alexander`s military expertise was introduced when he commanded the left wing in the Battle of Chaeronea in 338 B.C.E. In 336, in the result of Philip II death Alexander inherited his title of king of Macedon. After titled king Alexander got rid of all threats to his throne. When chosen king of Macedon he did not acquire command of the Corinthian League immediately. Athens and southern Greek states planned to lead the league under Demosthenes. Instantly showing leader like qualities the League entrusted Alexander with absolute powers to campaign against Persia. He lacked wealth, so needed the riches of Persia to be able to maintain the force assembled by Philip. They crossed Asia Minor and sacked cities to gain wealth. After he freed a Greek... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At Arbela, Alexander encountered the Persians, this was the Battle of Gaugamela. At the end, the Persian army fell, and into the Kurdish mountains Alexander followed Darius. As they pursued Darius they found Babylonia, Alexander then decided to desert the chase. He probed the all the riches of the land Darius ditched. Later, Alexander defeated the superb palace of Susa and took their riches. Next, he departed to the capital of the Persian Empire, Persepolis. Alexander believed Persepolis was their worst enemy among the cities of Asia. Also, they were the wealthiest city. Alexander sacked and burned the city to stop its uprising, and as a consequence for the demolition of Athens. Then he went to Darius s last capital, Ecbatana, where he left the Macedonian general in command of the seized valuables. Alexander set out in search for Darius. Darius and his eastern satraps have ran off past the Caspian Gates. The satraps had assassinated Darius when Alexander got to them, he demanded a royal funeral. As Darius s inheritor and avenger, Alexander according to Persian principles, maltreated them. He became the Persian king, started to dress in Persian royal clothing and embraced the Persian court ceremonials. Like anywhere else, he placed officials in his management. But, he retained his place of the head of the Corinthian League with regard to the Greek ambassadors. Alexander professed that he was the King of Asia and

Comparing Julius Caesar And Yitzhak Rabin

Jayd PaikComparing VT1700633

History, it either repeats itself or we learn and grow from the mistakes of others. In history we had not so great men and we had more than great men, the way they thought, their actions, and their war tactics shaped the modern day leaders. The peace maker, and the king among kings share a lot of things in history like war and peace, home life, and love lives. In this essay I will be talking about Julius Caesar and Yitzhak Rabinlives in history and comparing these two great leaders in history.

It is hard to say when Julius Caesar was born, but it is estimated that he was born July 12 or 13, 100 BC. His family are far from rich, He is the son of Gaius Caesar and Aurelia Caesar, however his father died when he was 16 so he stayed very close to his mother. Caesar married a nobleman s daughter name Cornelia, they both had a daughter, Julia Caesaris, but sadly Cornelia died in 69 BC. Two years later he marries the granddaughter of the dictator Sulla, Pompeia, they were married for five years before they were divorce. He married for the final time to a young lady, Calpurnia, whom will stay with him till the end, even though he had numerous mistresses including Cleopatra VII, whom she had a baster son name Caesarion. Raging with anger, the dictator Sulla demanded that Caesar either divorced or loss all his land, he instead joined the military. Before Sulla died, Caesar and a couple of his closest friends convince him to let Caesar back into Rome. Caesar rose to power, others got jealous and even one of the leaders were not fully over his enemy, however Caesar, Marcus Licinius Crassus, and Pompey became known as the First Triumvirate. Once again Caesar shows his abilities as someone who can negotiate and unit people together. Soon after however Pompey grew more and more jealous of his partner, while Crassus never got over his disdain for Pompey. All three patch things up for a little while in 56 BC in Luca, Caesar already ruled a territorial and extended for another five years, gave Crassus a five year term in Syria and gave Spain to Pompey for Five years as well. Three years later Crassus was killed in a terrible battle in Syria, at the same

Scavengers Vs Fish

RCS are primarily scavengers and algae eaters, but are also considered omnivores as they will eat almost anything. Their most common food source is algae which they clean of off any surface that it grows on. With RCS you will not need any algae growth control solution; they will clean your tank like a proper cleaning crew. But algae should not be their only food source; other feed should be added to keep them fed. A regular stable diet of commercial aquarium food, such as algae wafers, shrimp pallets, fish flakes and/or bloodworms should also be provided. But be sure to read the ingredients label carefully, any food that contains copper is not recommended. A great thing to also add to their menu are blanched vegetables; carrots, zucchini, lettuce

Pros And Cons Of The Cosmological Argument

The Cosmological Argument has several forms, but is essentially a proof for the existence of the God of classical theism. It investigates to respond to the human wonder for answers to questions like who created the universe? It is an a posteriori argument, meaning that it is based on our experience of the world around us. The argument has been around for many years, but it was St. Thomas Aquinas in his book Summa Theologica who established the argument as we know it today. Aquinas had five proofs for the existenceof God, of which three are cosmological; they are the First Cause Argument, the Prime Mover Argument and the Argument from Contingency. The First Cause Argument is troubled with the idea that all things have a cause and if we trace back the chain of causes, there must be an original cause which began everything else. People take this cause without a cause to be God. In a similar way the Prime Mover Argument declares that everything has to be moved by something and then a chain of movement is constructed up with each items movement resting on the movement of the item before it. Since the Cosmological Argumentrejects infinity, this chain of movement must have been started by something, because it is by our own experience that all things... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It rejects the idea of an infinite universe because as time is always being added on, time cannot be infinite. This argument was also discovered in the western world by William L. Craig, who revised it to some extent. The argument states that if the universe was infinite then all of time would exist simultaneously. A good example of this idea would be Hilbert s paradox of the Grand Hotel, which was introduced by David Hilbert and it proved that a fully occupied hotel with infinitely many rooms may still accommodate additional guests, even infinitely many of them and that this process may be repeated infinitely

A Farewell To Arms By Ernest Hemingway Analysis

Maybe their name was Janice. Or perhaps they preferred a more neutral name like Tyler or Sam. Sometimes they were people and other times they were magical animal hybrids with superpowers. Nonetheless, whatever their species, whatever their name was, almost everyone had an imaginary friend. Imaginary friends however, are often outgrown and for the most part, forgotten. Authors have special relationships with their characters. They channel their hopes and dreams into a fictional entity and this allows them to live one thousand lives the way they wish they could. One example of this is in Ernest Hemingways novel, A Farewell To Arms . The brave World War One ambulance driver, Frederic Henry, shares many traits with the esteemed author. It s... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Nonetheless, traumatic events like the many Hemingway experienced during the war leave an impact on the witness. In most cases, soldiers leave warfronts with a form of post traumatic stress disorder, or ptsd ( Post Traumatic Stress Disorder 1). Often those diagnosed with ptsd are also diagnosed with depression ( PTSD: National Center for PTSD 1). Clearly, Hemingway had undiagnosed depression and his suicide confirms it ( Ernest Hemingway 3). The combination of ptsd and depression could have led to Hemingway forming his own alter ego. The alter ego would allow him to, in his mind at least, become another person with another temperament, similar to what a method actor does (Rodgers 3). This could explain the great adventures Hemingway had in between his writing, anything adventurous from bullfighting to deep sea fishing, he did it ( Ernest Hemingway 2). The coming and going of these adventures may have been the result of his mental state, the good days were the grand adventures, and the bad days were the ones at home, revisiting the war, swallowed up by his ptsd ( Depression 2).

Perhaps on these days at home he imagined what could have been if he had done one thing differently, that s how Frederic Henry came along.

Frederic Henry is an American ambulance driver for the Italians that loves Catherine Barkley. Catherine chose Henry and this divides Hemingway from the character he created. Hemingway s war nurse was named Agnes von Kurowskyand she

The Short Happy Life Of Francis Macomber By Hemingway

In Hemingway s short story, The Short, Happy Life of Francis Macomber Hemingway uses the writer s craft of perspective to develop the characterization of the three main protagonists.Wilson, Mrs. Macomber, and Macomber s characterization is developed through multiple perspectives which create a negative tone throughout the story.

First, Mr. Wilson is presented as a judgemental, professional hunter that slowly shifts and changes in how he feels to Macomber. Wilson s judgemental side is presented through his internal dialogue and how he feels about Macomber. On Page 4 he says So he s a bloody four letter man as well as a bloody coward. I rather liked him too until today. But how is one to know about an American? Wilson get s annoyed by... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Macomber is a cruel and remorseless person who won t leave Macomber. However, later in the story Mrs. Macomber starts to shift in her personality and starts to get afraid of what is to come. On page 4 Mrs. Macomber is being cruel and says What importance is there to whether Francis is any good at killing lions? That s not his trade. That s Mr. Wilson s trade. Mr. Wilson is really very impressive killing anything. Here, Mrs. Macomber is directly humiliating her husband through her comparison of Macomber to Wilson. She is trying to undermine Macomber and make him feel ill about the lion because she is mad about the incident. Through Hemingway s use of a third person narrator the readers able to see how Mrs. Macomber hates and disrespects her husband for what he did. The dialogue of Mrs. Macomber shows the readers what she does daily and how he had had to put up with it for his whole marriage. Later, Mrs Macomber and Macomber have a row but both of them come to the same conclusion, that they won t leave each other. It s the morning after Mrs. Macomber slept with Wilson and Macomber is getting riled up. Mrs. Macomber then says If you make a scene I ll leave you, darling, she adds on later No, she said. I won t leave you and you ll behave yourself (Page 24). This shows how Macomber is mad about the way her husband is acting and threatens him because of it. Then, the readers see how even if they both say that they both won t leave other. Mrs Macomber is there for Macomber s wealth while Macomber is their for Mrs. Macomber s beauty. The dialogue between the couple shows the readers how they want to leave but both know that they won t. This use of insight into the characters reactions to each other makes the story way much deeper and gets the readers more involved. After the row, Macomber starts to change which makes Mrs. Macomber nervous and scared. Mr. Macomber is changing and Mrs. Macomber is getting nervous. She then

General Motors

GM describes their brand politics as having two brands which will drive our global growth. They are Chevrolet, which embodies the qualities of value, reliability, performance and expressive design; and Cadillac, which creates luxury vehicles that are provocative and powerful. At the same time, the Holden, Buick, GMC, Baojun, Opel and Vauxhall brands are being carefully cultivated to satisfy as many customers as possible in select regions. As it emerged from bankruptcy and company reorganization in 2010, GM reorganized the content and structure of its brand portfolio. Some nameplates like Pontiac, Oldsmobile, Saturn, Hummer, and service brands like Goodwrench were discontinued. Others, like SAAB, were sold. Main brands: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In neither of these cases did the manufacturing departments expect to take all the output of the parts and accessories farms. Soon both companies by selling such supplies to outsiders had greatly enlarged their product line. Supplements are by no means the same as extensions. When British Aerospace bought Rover, wondrous guff was babbled about the transfer of aerospace technology to car manufacture. If any such transfer took place, it was totally insignificant. Similar false claims were made by General Motors when it diversified into computer services and electronic defence systems by buying, respectively, Electronic Data Services and Hughes Aircraft. Both buys, however, proved to be enormous successes, earning GM large profits both from operations and from the billions eventually made by spinning off the buys. This doesn t disprove the argument against diversification. It proves something else: that GM is very good at this game (much better, in fact, than at making and selling cars). There are businesses which specialise in diversifying, including one Warren Buffett s Berkshire Hathaway which is among the most spectacular investments of all time; $10,000 invested in the shares in 1965 was worth $51 million in 1999. Buffett has bought and kept businesses in furniture retailing, ice cream parlours, shoe manufacture, newspapers, insurance, executive jets, etc., etc. They
