My Dream As A Teacher

From a young age I have always wanted to teach and inspire others to learn. This was heavily influenced by my upbringing as my dad has always taught me that you can never have too much information and any new skill you learn is a new skill you can use. I enjoy sharing my knowledge and learning from others. For me personally I believe that teaching is such a valuable career choice as the devotion and passion required from teachers is what is needed to be able to deliver the best education for the students.

I would love to teach young adults and inspire them to want to learn and find out new information and skills and to grasp all they can while they are at school. I want my students to feel supported in their career paths and I hope to be there to assist them achieving their dream career/job.

As a compassionate person I would like the opportunity to help kids who don't think they can be at school and won't ever be successful to change that perspective and help them come up with plans in how they are going to achieve what they would like. Coming from a business degree majoring in Human Resource Management and Public Relations, it has reinforced for me my desire to teach and/or train people. Since April 2016 I have been working with QUT as a Widening Participation Ambassador, and this has reminded me of my career idea as a child to be a teacher in high school as I really enjoy my job liaising with students.

My dream job is to have the ability to help and teach students about history and where we have come from to get us to the present day. As a student I remember History being one of my favourite subjects as I loved learning about all the facts of the past, and I would love to be able to share our history with students. History to me shows how far we have come as a society as well as the mistakes we've made along the way, and represents us as people today. I believe a key part of Modern History is the recent technology progressions, and how much things have changed within just 50 years. To teach history to students would be a great privilege.

My Goals For Becoming A Teacher

My motivation for wanting to teach young children is that, I was inspired by my niece and nephew. I love working with little kids. They keep you busy, and they make your day entertaining. Little kids make things easier sometimes. Sometimes they listen to you and follow directions sometimes better than older kids. I would say that because you want to teach the kids what are important and valuable in life. That would be a great information to teach children at a young age. The philosophical orientation that suits my teaching style the best is perennials. This is the one suits me the best for the reason that, I want my students to receive the best education they can get.

I am going to maximize the student's learning in my classroom by having everything organized. I would make my lesson plans ahead of time so that I am not stressed. If the teacher is less stressed, than the children would be relaxed. I personally believe that it will be an easier way, if you have all your lessons planned out ahead of time. I will motivate my students to have their work done by doing something fun in the classroom or giving them the option to not have homework a few times a year. I believe this will allow them to do their work, for the reason that children like to be motivated when they have nice opportunities thrown at them.

I will meet the diverse needs and learning styles of my students by making sure that I have the classroom in control. I will talk about the diverse needs once a week to teach my students about how important it is to know about this subject.

A quote that inspires me and describes my likely method of teaching is "Education is what survives when what has been learned has been forgotten"–BF Skinner. When you teach the students

My Most Memorable Teachers For some reason or another certain students are drawn to particular teachers while other students are more fond of others. In my life I have studied under three memorable teachers. Teachers with which I was able to connect, to laugh, to share my misgivings. While I may have been close with each of these teachers, it is very clear, in retrospect, that each was very unique, and represented an entirely different class of teacher.

The teacher that stands out most in my head is my eleventh grade English teacher. She had a liberal arts background, and enjoyed the classic American writers; Hemingway, Steinbeck, what have you. She was in the class of teachers who was more impressed by actions and honesty...show more content... Her class of teachers take their jobs very seriously, and do not tolerate students who skip or disrupt their classes. These teachers are fun, because once you get them off on some irrelevant tangent, they will keep themselves going on it for entire class segments, trying to get out years of thought and consideration in just a short period of time. This is how I got to know my psychology teacher, because I was the one who kept her talking, so that the class could avoid taking the quiz that none of us had studied for. Teachers like her have the innate gift to educate and entertain, with their comprehensive lessons and subtle quirks.

Finally, I come to my high school horticulture teacher, whom I studied under for so many years that by the time I was a senior, we talked to each other on a first name basis. He belonged to a small class of teachers who are personally important to every young adult. This class of teacher is the buddy, the friend. The teacher with whom you can talk about anything, be it the trouble you have been having with your girlfriend, the high–potency marijuana that you smoked over the weekend, or just the dirty jokes you heard the day before. These are the teachers with whom you simply share interests, and thus, get along really well. Having a teacher like this is almost like having a counselor, someone older and wiser than yourself

My Goal As A Teacher

My goal as a teacher is to encourage and challenge students as they develop their learning skills. Teaching young intellects is a significant undertaking and will not be taken casually. It is a position that is filled with many frustrations, challenges and responsibilities. However, it is a job that is also very rewarding full of pleasure, admiration and excitement. Every child possesses the ability to learn by their very own style. As a result, it is imperative to learn each student 's learning style, interests and aversions. Building relationships with every student is another important aspect. By learning more about them individually, I am able to provide suitable opportunities supported by valid learning experiences. I want to teach students with direct interaction, as well as bestowing independence to room to develop and expand on their own. At the beginning of the school year, it is clear that I will direct class discussions; nevertheless towards the end of the year, students will initiate their own questions and will answer them independently. I feel it is beneficial for students to sometimes work for the answer rather than being told because it broadens their understanding and educates them on finding information in a variety of ways. I also feel a fundamental aspect for students to learn is to work on projects that help others. As an educator, it is important not only to help the students that you are teaching but also give them direction to help others. I also

1. Instructional Context–My class includes 25 five and six year old kindergartners; 24 African–American students and 1 Caucasian student. I have 11 girls and 14 boys in my full–day kindergarten class where I teach language arts, math, science, social studies, and health. My class is a typical kindergarten group, in that they are very active and learn best by doing. They are a very talkative group and are in constant competition to share their ideas and to have "their turn" to participate. I divided my students into 6 groups, making sure to split up the 5 boys who have difficulty focusing. I also enlisted a 5th grade student to serve as a "shadow" for my autistic student, so that he was able to follow instructions and fully participate in all of our activities. These stations were set up in areas of my classroom, which was a familiar and comfortable setting for all my students. 2. ¬Planning and Instruction– The social skills addressed (taken from my state's Readiness Assessment) during this period of instruction were:  following rules/routines,  respecting others,  getting along in a group, sharing/taking turns, and  asking for help when needed. Although, not all 5 and 6 year olds will master all of these social skills in kindergarten, these skills are within the "widely held expectations" of children this age (NAEYC, 1997). Through 20 years of teaching experience, I know that 5 and 6 year olds are becoming increasingly independent, but they still enjoy working in small groups. In addition, 5 and 6 year olds often behave in a warm and empathetic manner, yet, they can be bossy with others and at times, have difficulty sharing, and taking turns. Also, interacting with other children in small groups provides situations for children to extend their knowledge, thinking, and skills through input from their peers. I remember my favorite teacher vividly even though I sat in her class many years ago. I have so many fond memories of her and took so much from her class. I can only dream of touching a child's life in the way my favorite teacher touched mine. For just one student to think of me in the same way would make all the years of hard work worth the effort. I also want my students achieve many accomplishments. I want them to use and remember what they have learned in my class. I also want them to have a broad spectrum of knowledge. I want each student to do their best and go as far as they can. I want them to feel a sense of accomplishment and be proud of themselves. I want to be the teacher who is encouraging, supportive, and pushes her students to be their best.

I hope that when I am a teacher that the kids will learn from me that learning can be fun and not a task. That there is so much to learn about that you should never be bored with learning. My Vision For My Future Classroom

My Vision

My vision for my future classroom is to create an atmosphere where each individual feels accepted and valued. It is my goal to discover ways to make learning innovative, enjoyable, creative, and rewarding. I will strive to discover my strengths, then use them to empower my students. Hopefully this leads to positive outcomes within each student and transforms the way my classroom operates. I would love to teach elementary level students, preferably grades 1–3, because that is my passion. In this type of classroom, I would teach the basics of every subject for that grade. I believe that I would excel with the variety that this role has to offer. I am open to teaching anywhere and in any type of school, due to the fact my education was both in public and parochial schools. If possible, I will use technology to enhance my teaching. I would love to incorporate technology into my classroom because it makes learning more efficient, increases student creativity, and creates endless learning possibilities by giving every student a customizable learning experience.

Why I Want to be a Teacher

As an elementary education major, I desire to become a teacher because I would like to give back to my community the education that has been bestowed upon me. My thoughts of becoming a teacher become increasingly more clear daily, as I love to work with children. The children and I seem to connect well, together. I think teaching is a part of my family's heritage as most of my family have been teachers. Therefore, I feel teaching is the profession for me as well. If I can help but one child achieve their goals, I will have accomplished something.

Some students have one set method of learning and grasping material and cannot deviate from the method. If so, the students have a hard time handling the material. We must incorporate various teaching styles to correlate to each student.

We need to make learning fun for students and refrain from the usual "Mom, do I really have to go to school" kind of day to having students who are eager to learn and state "Mom, is it time for school yet?" We as educators and teachers must strive to meet a middle ground with our students so that all are willing to learn from the teaching process.

The five step proposal by John Dewey would be an excellent method for solving problems: become aware of the problem, define it, propose various hypothesis to solve it, examine each consequence and test the most likely solution.

As you observe the classroom, some students will be taking notes while others are sleeping or talking. Students who are sleeping or talking will not learn as well as the students taking notes. We should make our class diverse by providing various activities, projects and learning experiences among our students. A teacher can also keep students active by reviewing and receiving feedback about what the students already know. Then the teacher should begin their lecture as this is where most students learn best. Afterwards, check for the students' understanding and make sure they are

Major Personal Essay: Trust in the Educational Experience How important is trust to the educational process? How does trust between student and teacher impact the experience for both? Over the years, I have sat the chair of both student and teacher, although not typically at the same time! Pondering the topic of trust in the educational experience, I am aware of an internal dialog that is not unlike the Disney Pixar movie, "Inside Out". Colorful, lively animations depicting the internal dialog of the base emotions of young Riley Andersen and her parents, depict the interaction of these emotions in a fun, yet sobering, way. Much like those characters, the teacher and student inside me struggle to find clarity on this topic. My experience as...show more content...

Specifically, that not all students are there to learn! College professors may have an assumed understanding, or trust, that student at the college level are there to learn. I'm sure there is a great deal of truth in this unspoken trust. However, I have encountered a few walls in my own journey of learning that were unexpected. I have become aware that I am not always striving for complete understanding, I just want to pass the next test. Or just need to get through a mandatory, prerequisite class with a reasonable grade so I can get onto the topics I enjoy. Although the motives are less than pure, does that make them untrustworthy? The teacher voice responds with uncertainty to that question. Moreover, I am finding that my student–self has allowed my personal biases, whether by experience or observation, to build an ever–growing set of filters which are often applied without even realizing it. I didn't respond well to that teaching style in the past. Her accent is hard to understand and I feel self–conscious for repeatedly asking her to repeat herself. My Experience As A Preschool Teacher

My time observing at Martin Luther King Jr Middle school was such a learning experience. As a future teacher I learned a lot about myself. For one, I learned that being a teacher in a Title 1 school is not for me. Our course text in chapter 4 stated that there is a shortage in the right kinds of teachers in urban communities. The book is absolutely right. When it comes to kids in Title 1 schools and urban communities it takes a special kind of teacher to deal with the issues that appear in those kids. A teacher must be willing to put in extra time to work with the kids and be strong enough to deal with their rough exteriors. Ms. Hill emphasized that idea to me. I'll be honest, I have the cultural background to work with Title 1 kids, but I do not have the personality for it. The kids that I observed, would tear me down and send me running if I were their teacher because I am far too sensitive and I am a pushover at this time in my life. I would love to work with Title 1 students eventually, but I know that I have a lot of growing to do as an educator before that happens. From this experience, I also learned that when I become a teacher, I want my students to like me as a person but that I also want to them to give me the utmost respect. I feel that I can best do this by really getting to know my students, feeding into their interests, and by building a personal connection with them so that they know that I care about them and what happens to them. At the same time, for

While it is not uncommon for teachers to play a more important role in the life of a child, educators must be aware that although they are not parents but they should create clear boundaries that the child understands.

Wednesday, July 19th, I had a chance to observe carefully an infant for about half an hour in my psychology class at Santa Monica College. The infant, Ali Osman, a healthy, playful boy appears to be of Middle Eastern origin. He is 15.5 months old, 32" tall and weighs about 24 lbs with brown curly hair, dark brown eyes and fairly tanned skin. There were several kinds of toys like blocks, dolls, and automobiles in the room. However, when he just came in, he was immediately drawn to the dolls with intense interest and focus. My Motivation For Being A Teacher Essay

My motivation for being a teacher comes from somewhere deep within my heart and soul. I love children. I love the look that comes across their faces when they finally grasp a concept after they have been trying to truly understand it. I had a lot of teachers that made an impact on me and I want to have the same impact on as many children as possible. My teachers installed a love of learning in me. There is no better profession than teaching for those who want to learn. One is learning just as much from their students, if not more, than what they teach. Teaching is rewarding and involves making the world a better place. That is my calling. To change the world, one person at a time, by showing love to each and every person I meet. Weather it be one of my students or one of their parents, I want to be Christ's light just like my teachers were for me. I want to be the support system that shows each and every one of my students that they can do anything they put their mind to. Not only can they shoot for the stars, but they can shoot far beyond. After all, I was once just a kid from a small farm town that no one knows about. Now I've been on 4 mission trips, I travel all around, and I moved half way across the country to chase my dreams. I am here because I was impacted by my high school history teacher/ musical director, Mr. Wittig. He pushed me to chase my dreams and to follow my heart and not to let anything get in my way. It Takes No Time To Write An Essay

Have you ever just sat down with a blank piece of paper for what seemed like forever, tearing down every idea before you even wrote it? It takes forever to write an essay. There are so many parts to essays and they're even harder to understand if your teacher has not explained them to you in general. Rebecca Schuman (an education columnist for Slate) sarcastically thinks that it takes 45 minutes to write a crappy paper, but never touched on an estimated time it takes to write a decent paper and still get a bad grade. In her idea it takes no time to write an essay. It seems sad to admit but I am in college and just learned the essence of essays. My teacher is very visual and it is helpful to me. Everyone learns a different way, so some instructors techniques may not even be knocking on the door of some students brains when it comes towriting. Schuman stated that students come to college unable to write and leave the same way. To some students writing is as mysterious as a foreign language so this could be true. No matter how many times you have heard what the details of a paper are: a topic, introduction, body paragraphs and a conclusion, these things have no meaning. Until you know what they mean you are just putting a bunch of words together and calling it an essay. Knowing the details of a paper helps for better understanding. Instead of just grading a paper and assuming the student did not take time to think it over, or was too busy

My Experience As A Student Teacher

1. What was your experience as a student teacher? Did you find yourself getting attached to the children in the classroom? Were you skeptical in the beginning? As a student teacher, what was the most efficient advice you received from the former teacher? What was your biggest dilemma in student teaching? My experience as a student teacher, varied from the majority. My original foundation of teaching was with sixth graders. I worked with a very liberal private school where I started out as a student teacher and became a co–teacher to that sixth grade class. From going into graduate school where you usually do have a student teacher experience, that wasn't offered at my graduate school which was Sara Lawrence College. Instead, you had to find outside resources to supplement that lack of a student teacher experience. I conducted seminars or introductory classes to prospective graduate students in the St. Thomas Aquinas College. You always develop a relationship with your students no matter what the age is. Of course, there tends to be a mere dependency at a certain age whether it is 15 or you go younger, but at the same rate there is also always that establishment of respect and responsibility. I am a very big believer in individualized teaching, but with the establishment of respect and responsibility the goal is the same from the start. There is a certain sense of courage that you need once you enter the teaching realm. You need to believe in yourself first before you can

I truly believe that education is the key to success. Success comes in different stages. Before a child can be successful outside of school they must fist be successful in school. Children need to learn to have confidence in their abilities and their work. They also need to learn to have confidence in themselves. They need to understand that they are special, ante that they are wonderful for just being themselves. As a teacher, I hope to influence children not only in their core curriculum but also in their ability to solve problems. In my classroom, I don't necessarily want the students to memorize facts, bi I want them to learn and retain the information on how to find the answers. They need to know the type of information they can go to the dictionary for help, encyclopedias, thesaurus, and the Internet.

That said, not everything can be taught in this manner. Many things in my classroom will be taught through the exploration of books. Children need to be taught that learning is fun or they won't want to learn. We all know that if someone doesn't want to do something they won't do it. After completing a few observations, I changed my view and recognized my teaching abilities. I was able to learn many different things that will be helpful to me when I become a certified teacher someday. Although I could face many possible challenges in the classroom, I have many of the strengths it takes to be a good teacher. There were many times during this field training that gave me a broad idea of how the ordinary life of a teacher would go. Similarly, I got a profound sense of how the classroom environment is for most instructors. In general, I believe this was a pleasant experience for me, and I learned a lot in such a brief period. My Motivation For Teaching A Student Essay

My motivation for teaching is to make a difference in a students life. The feeling of teaching a child a lesson, and them understanding it, is a rewarding experience for a teacher. I have babysat for about 6 years, and being around children makes me happy and I love the relationships that I have built with all the kids I have cared for in the past. What really motivated me to go back to school for teaching, was this past summer after having the opportunity to be a camp counselor.
