If you are a foreign visitor to South Africa you can reclaim VAT on your purchases, provided the total claim exceeds R250.00. VAT is refunded at the VAT refund office (see below) at OR Tambo International Airport. Ensure that you have received a tax invoice from the store where you made your purchase, and on departure from South Africa present your goods and tax invoice for inspection at the VAT refund desk.
