What does luxuria mean to Krista Ference, and what are her top three luxury items?
Krista is a cofounder and cochair of Lois Hole Hospital Women’s Society and Board member of Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation. Luxuria for me is having the time to devote to my family and friends and also causes that are important to me because I know how fortunate I am in that way. Luxury is the ability to choose everything based on quality and to make those little choices that make life lovely - like valeting my car at the airport, hiring a cleaning service for my home and yard care, having fresh flowers in the house, making most purchase decisions based on principal not on cost. Living a healthy, active and informed life is luxury. To me, luxury is about a way of living and not the things we accumulate. Here are my top three luxury items: 1. Being able to grocery shop without checking prices. We are very fortunate to provide our family with quality, healthy and wholesome foods and I won’t ever compromise in that department. 2. Being able to allow our kids to enter every sport, activity, and experience they have interest in. I believe that introduction to as many skills as possible is important to raising worldly and curious children who will become confident individuals. 3. Being able to travel. Travelling is a must and exposing our girls to the world and it’s diverse cultures is key even if it’s just a surf trip! Of course, we are not travelling during these challenging and unprecedented times. I am hopeful that we all will be able to move freely again and with a new awareness. Love and Health to everyone!
